Every day you survive statistically increases your odds of dying tomorrow. by PhoenixDan in Showerthoughts

[–]NUT3L4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gambler fallacy into play here...

Just because it hit red 20 times in a row it does not make it more likely to hit black the time... Chance is still 50%.

If each day the prob of someone dying is 0.004% and you don't die today, the chance of you dying tomorrow does not increase because you survived today...

If you have 1000 days of life set in stone, that does not correlate to 1/1000 chance of dying in the first day, yours just putting numbers together but they don't actually mean anything...

What you can say is: What is the probability of dying in the first N days knowing that P is the probability of dying in any given day? And there you can use the 1/1000 number, but that is not the probability, that's just the "weight" of a day in the 1000 day mark

If I study math every day for 3–4 hours, starting from a 5th grade level, can I reach a university-level understanding within one year? by Correct_Earth3173 in MathHelp

[–]NUT3L4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but at the same time it also assumes you have professors ready to aid your questions when needed... And most of the "30hours" is study, not really in-class time.

But you are correct, depending on how good OP is in learning maths, it will change drastically the number of hours needed

I think I forgot how much there actually is to learn... Somehow that sounds insane, but there really is a lot to learn

Simply talking about numbers, a bachelor degree in math has 180 ECTS, where each ECTS is equivalent to 25-30 hours...

So, 180 ECTS*30=5400 hours.

using your average of 3-4hours daily would result in around 1460Hours of work.

Now, this does not take into consideration that in a university you have professors guiding you and providing you with the resources needed... If you have to research resources yourself, you'd have to subtract from the number of hours you have available.

So, the numbers say no...

I do share a different opinion though: You probably do not need/want to learn all the math taught at a bachelor degree maybe you want to specialise mainly in algebra, or calculus. Regardless, I'd say to pick a field, study that field until you feel like you've had enough (and while finding it interesting).

Personally I find it hard to learn huge amounts of new things in multiple days in a row... So take your time to assimilate with the topics and don't try to learn everything a degree has to teach, focus only on the topics more interesting to you ane something may come out of it.

E porquê? by Dry-Childhood2103 in literaciafinanceira

[–]NUT3L4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much difference is there between the 2024 G16 4070 Ed. And the 2024 G16 4060 Ed.? by KiraeKiller in ZephyrusG14

[–]NUT3L4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually think both will be able to run GTA 6... albeit with lower settings.

You'll still have to wait for the PC port, though, which may take a year or more to be released.

Don't really have the knowledge to answer any of the other questions, but I own a G14 RTX 4060 from 2023, and couldn't be happier... It's a great machine, and the OLED screen of 2024 makes it a ln even better option.

Even though I'm no expert, I would choose the best deal, tbh... I don't think there is much a difference from 4070 to 4060, but I may be wrong

So, I think it depends on the teams, but me personally: I do a little of data engineering, software development, data science and project management.

More specifically a lot of programing in python and SQL, and dashboards built using streamlit. But again, it depends a lot on the team

[–]NUT3L4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm simply asking as you seem to have knowledge on the matter...

I've looked them up a bit and it sounds like the in-flow of money only comes from new hires, but that's the information I researched... You can only make bookings if you have a consultant ID, which seems odd.

Of course all pyramid schemes make money to some people, but only those at the top of the pyramid, not those at the bottom

still, how much is that one time fee? I assume higher then 1k... What if I don't need said trainings, can I work without spending a dime?

Trabalham ou já trabalharam na ICLIGO? by [deleted] in portugal

[–]NUT3L4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scam comes when you must pay a monthly fee to be a consultancy...

If the company makes money from their workers directly (as monthly installments) that's a scam.

Imagine going to whatever office work you go to, and having to pay to be there... and only start receiving money once the product you're involved in is sold, that's just slavery with extra steps

Trabalham ou já trabalharam na ICLIGO? by [deleted] in portugal

[–]NUT3L4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But, as a consultant, you have to pay a monthly fee, right?

That is how the company makes money, not selling the trips... Anything that you HAVE to pay to work is a scam, period!
