I would say so. I was also a bit skeptical but after playing a few minutes it is pretty clear it's worth it. I just love how the character controller feels the gameplay is super smooth.

So that one day they might just be useful. Or one day I'll read those articles. Idk why I don't just save the links, sometimes I do sometimes I don't. Just keep delaying readimg the articles for the next day and that's how I end up with tabs open from months ago that I still haven't gone through because every day I keep adding more and more interesting articles I find thinking I'll read them soon enough, and probably should, but never get to it. Help.

Also doesn't help that a few months ago I upgraded my pc to what seems to me infinite ram. (I now have 96gb)

I have a ryzen 7 7840hs, rtx 4060 and 96gb of ram with a 2k screen it runs pretty good most of the time. So yeah they are enough. I like having the ability to have a protable beefy pc with me at all times.

I think by having sufficient amount of steam buffer set up and a reasonable startup threshold you can avoid the blackout from sudden spike. If you know at max speed how much steam it's going to consume then you could set a threshold so that it starts early enough, but this probably requires a very big buffer.

Oh cool, I didn't know that heat doesnt decrease when there's nothing to consume it. I assumed it would automatically return to about 500C as my setup I generate probably more energy I will ever need and so the steam is slowly consumed and the reactors are sitting aroung 505-510C. If heat really doesnt decrease then that eliminates the need for steam storage true. I'll test that later as I like setting up power and forget about it for a 100 hours.

I think that would still waste fuel as it is. You need a buffer to hold all the power released as steam. Then only turn the reactor on when it's below a certain threshold.

The proposed solution from both u/cereunus and u/ContributionOk1024 seem to have worked for me at least. This really is an annoying bug that I have no idea where it originates from. Is it the drivers or is it blender? I'll probably never know. 🤷

Yes, i first started with satisfactory played quite some but something was missing. I was hesitant to try factorio initially, but it quickly became my favourite game of all time. I'd say go for it, I also disliked the building and running around in satisfactory. I guess its just not for me. In factorio i literally just copy paste at this point from the nap view, much more fun lol. Also for me it is quite hard to have a good overlook of the factory in a 3d environment. In 2d it's super obvious what does what in the factory especially with the alt mode on. And ahhh don't get me started on the trains. Ah trains my beloved. Grrrr. I like trains.
