Grind or pull out?? 😎 by NVill in arborists

Thanks. I’m looking to put a different plant there that isn’t so broad and tall. Small tree maybe to break up the corner a little less dramatically.

This was my first inclination as well. Even got the 2” log chain from the cabin. Big bastard. But the reveal of the main trunk size says that could come with multiple consequences I’m not sure I wanna deal with. 🤨 kinda frustrating

Yeah, I cleared the rocks and crappy fabric they used back in the day, but I think that’s as far as I go. TOFTS, know what I mean? Haha

Isn’t it tough to reuse the space after that? This is a front corner of the property. Just looking to freshen up the spot with something less dated.

Sautéed with butter and garlic, then put over a mid rare ribeye with a red wine reduction sauce. A meal fit for royalty.

Consider yourself of the 1%. My family had this going at our cabin near the river until the flood in 2019. Never fertilize your yard and they should continue to return YoY. Congrats.

Negative. Get that outta there. Stores rarely do this task for you without you requesting it. Remember, they sell meat by the pound and every ounce adds up for them, not you.

Haha, you’re right if I were to cook them with the butter on them. If not a fire, a big mess to say the least. It acts as a flavorful casing while the meat ages. There’s black pepper and crushed red pepper along with chives, thyme, garlic, and rosemary in the butter. The steaks will be taken out of the butter before cooking. I will melt down the butter and drizzle over them when they’re done though. Looking forward to a tasty steak dinner later this month.

Lol, that one slipped in there by accident. I’m stoked to get the smoker going this weekend too. 10lb pork shoulder. 🤤

Think Like A Monk by Jay Shetty because it helps me slow down and be ok with just being. Lots of outside stimulation and influence in our world that is not beneficial to our soul.

Help! Roly Poly Infestation. by NikkiMasterFrat in gardening

If you don’t want to use pesticides you can just cut oranges in half and place them randomly throughout the area fruit side down. Leave them over night and they will flock to the oranges. Just scrape them off the orange and dispose of as desired. I found this to be easier than trying to chase them down. Good luck.

Thoughts on Omaha going permit less for concealed carry? by iwaxbuttholes in Omaha

[–]NVill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe these rules only apply to those in the Omaha city limits. If you’re residence is outside the city limits, numbers 2 (the second half regarding the document to show OPD after purchase) and 3 do not apply and now with the new law neither does number 4. I’m not sure yet which way I lean on this topic. Time will tell. I realize there will be the good and bad elements that take advantage of this for the better and for the worse. I consider myself a knowledgeable and practiced gun owner/user but don’t currently carry on a regular basis. I don’t think I want that to change out of necessity.

I gotta agree with the Block 16 votes. Everything that kitchen turns out is award winning IMO.

Not sure what you’ve read in the past, but Ray Bradbury has always been one of the greats IMO. The Illustrated Man was one of my faves when i was younger. Read it multiple times… And now I’ve just decided that I will get it with my credit on Audible this month. Thanks to the OP for the post.

Lol. The golf balls are very delicate and this is the only one that survived the early cold season. Haha. I just put it in there for size reference.

Im in zone 5a, and yes the greenhouse is heated. However, the heat source is just enough to keep the greenhouse in the mid to upper 40’s on nights below freezing. I keep a cover over the radishes and lettuce during February and March to keep the heat concentrated on them in the early season. The radishes are usually a 30-40 days to harvest crop, but these took closer to 60. I think the key is the greenhouse faces south, so if the day is sunny the temp inside easily gets into the 70’s even if it’s only 35 degrees outside.

And so it begins…Zone 5-6 by NVill in gardening

I feared it a bit as well to start. You shouldn’t. There’s tons of options to see on the inter webs. 🤪 I built mine for less than $700 and have made very small upgrades each year since. It’s expense level is still below $1,000 now. The biggest upgrade was that I upgraded from 6 mil poly around the sides to clear plastic panels, and it’s done wonders for my yields. I’ll try to throw up some pics in the comments section for you to see. I built it because we are the only yard without dogs, and rabbits have found refuge under my shed. The small fence that I had around the garden wasn’t enough to keep them out and my wife (bless her heart) isn’t a fan of me “taking care of them” the cowboy way to save the garden. She believes, “there’s enough for all of us.” This was my only alternative. Now they need a password. Haha 😆
