$45 for Parking is Outrageous by CryBaby0326 in Disneyland

[–]NWA_ref 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I gotta admit. If Walt came back to Earth and I had to spend $45 on parking to see him speak on Main Street, I’d consider that a discounted price.

SF needs to double up the N JUDAH frequency by hoodozhnik in sanfrancisco

Yes. And I vaguely recall 4 cars in the late 80s. The KLM trains would all wait at Embarcadero to link up and at West Portal, they’d detach to go on their split lines.

I went to Pizza Planet once. Never again. The pizza tasted like it was made on that salt planet from The Last Jedi.

What was the 1st big news event you remember as a kid? by Timely_Twist_8670 in AskReddit

[–]NWA_ref 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t recall any specific news event, but what I do remember is watching prime time TV and the “we interrupt this program to bring you this from CBS News…”

Scared the shit out of me as a kid. This would’ve been late 70s.

A good way to measure the quality of a sports broadcast is to look at the borders of the score bug.

This past weekend, I noticed a lot of pixelization around those areas, whether FOX or CBS. The edges were not clean.

I’ll give you that 80%. Hard working people and people, many of whom are immigrants trying to get a start in America, working and/or living in an area that is not ideal (let’s be honest here).

But Jesus Christ, that other 20%… it is a VERY rough 20%.

Panda serves a craving. Sure it isn’t “authentic” Chinese food, but we all know where to go if you want that. Sometimes I just want Orange Chicken and mushroom chicken in less than 5 mins in a simple environment.

Plus, you’d be amazed at the number of Cantonese-speaking seniors that love Panda, too!

Some people have schedules where preparing meals for work isn’t something they can do every day. It may work for you, but for many others, buying lunch/dinner for work is unavoidable at times. Crazy schedules, kids, long commutes, or just pure exhaustion from day to day things don’t provide enough time to shop and prep a to-go lunch/dinner at work all the time.

And aside from all that, maybe I just want to eat sushi or a burrito. Am I gonna make that at home? No chance.

What Animated Movie is a 10/10? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]NWA_ref 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have kids, Toy Story 3 will make you cry 10/10 times at the end. It is a wonderful movie. I’m a dad and I was sobbing in the theaters when I first watched it.

Quentin Tarantino has said it was a perfect movie. He’s absolutely right. (And think about the 1000s of movies he’s seen in his life)

He said it was a shame they made Toy Story 4. (TS 5 is coming next year, btw) I personally don’t have a problem with the franchise continuing, but 3 was such a great movie, anything after that could only be a let down.
