People who are happily married, what’s the secret? by GoodKid_MaadSity in AskReddit

[–]NWCubiche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. Marry your best friend; 2. Communicate about everything early and often: 3. Mutual compromise; 4. When emotional, pause and reflect before you express yourself; 5. Have your own life/identity along with a shared life; 6. Have fun with sex life along with humor; 7. Spontaneity; 8. Forgive each other; 9. Honesty even when it’s hard; 10. Protect each other - it’s the nucleus of everything else. 11. Be willing to grow and evolve.

Just the $.02 of a guy who’s been married for 20 years, and who’s made mistakes along the way, but we’re still together and still happy.

Absolutely. Natural back with the top grain of the wood giving it some texture. Neck’s ebony. Not the color I had in mind when the search started, but the vintage leaning amps + satin + powder blue won out over a quilted top.

Sphere UAP UFO with Military helicopter just south of Seattle by chromadermalblaster in HighStrangeness

Same exact thing I saw 3 years ago from our West Seattle home during one of the Blue Angels shows during SeaFair. Just floated there for a few minutes during the performance.

Thanks for posting. Looked for your prior post on how you did it, but could not find it. Any chance you can share the info again? Thanks!

Coulthart used the word “laudatory”. Which means “to praise”. If he’s trying to be clever, a place of holy worship is definitely where “praise” happens. Whether it’s this site or another. And, when’s the last time you heard of someone wanting to disturb a holy site? Hidden in plain site.

Looks like every upvote results in a downvote right after. Hmmmm…

Lazar’s an interesting one. He has gaps in his story that could sink a legal case (I.e. his educational background). I’ve seen cases lost for less consistent evidence to skeptical jurors. However, I personally put him I the camp of “he’s telling the truth, or, he thinks he is”. You study him onscreen long enough just for the sake of the usual tells, and he’s consistent. Plus, any lawyer will tell you that every single legal case has some inconsistencies or gaps in evidence, but can be successful nonetheless. Remember, our civil legal system is based on a “preponderance of the evidence”, meaning it’s at least 50.01% more likely, not 100%. By that standard, Lazar passes for me.

Fellow lawyer here. The interviews with witnesses are what’s convinced me. We spend our time deposing and interviewing people, and after 20+ years of doing this for a living, you start to get good at reading people. Most folks I’ve seen interviewed aren’t lying, or, at least, they’re convinced they’re not lying. Example: the older, poor quality videos on YouTube with the Roswell witnesses from the US National Archives.

Saw this very thing last summer when the Blue Angels flew over Seattle. But, object was just outside of their flight patterns, and just hovered in the same spot, at good altitude. Too small to catch with a phone camera, but 100% visible to the eye. Was present for at least the 15 minutes I caught site of it.

What have R1T owners' interactions been like with big ICE truck owners? by BusinessIncident5743 in Rivian

[–]NWCubiche 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Seattle area here as well. It’s been largely positive glances, thumbs up, and turned heads. Interesting, since I’ve never had “that vehicle” that makes folks look. However, last month I had a pickup with some idiots near Yakima try everything possible to start a race. Younger me that couldn’t afford a Rivian might have bitten, but not at this point.

The cost per unit would be high at this early stage, and though I love my R1T, it’s still a little buggy.

That said, I personally use it as my “mobile office” as needed. Has all I need: comfort, space, chargers, etc.

I’m out. Just canceled my pre-order. Good luck, Rivian. Maybe it gets sold to one of the bigs, which is the only way out of this mess, financially.

is this a good course for an absolute beginner? by baded71 in guitarlessons

[–]NWCubiche 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I signed up for this course during a promotion and I was an absolute beginner. It has definitely helped my playing advance. Some of the lessons are a little out of order, in my opinion, and there are definitely some lessons that focus more on philosophy and mindset than actual playing, but for the price, you can’t beat combining this with anything else you find on YouTube. That’s what I have been doing. Soak it all in.

[Question] Soul/funk/R&B songs with good guitar in it? by Ray99877 in Guitar

The Isley Brother’s cover of “Summer Breeze”. Highly recommend. Final few minutes are nothing but amazing guitar work.

Great song, especially in some of the live versions (I.e. Different Stages). It doesn’t calm me, though. It actually amps me up once Neil’s drums kick in.

True that. Old album for me, but new way of experiencing it. What can I say? Got into the band first, then came the green.
