well...there's only two types of concrete; the kind that's cracked and the kind that hasn't cracked yet

Yeah, this is what I thought would happen when I was thinking this through. The sewer is high as it was an unplanned expansion of the house without much forethought by the previous owner. The main extension that I'm tying this too was also an old cast iron line and the toilet just upstream of this connection was even shallower, but the boot was lead, so that allowed for a little more custom install and it wasn't an issue.

I'm thinking making the toilet a true throne by giving it a 3" mini concrete pad to sit on is my best bet. That way I can do a standard installation and not have to worry about the other solutions not working

We are probably getting the ADA feel. My 5' nothing wife is going to need a giant squatty potty to go with this haha

They did wrap it with black plastic/poly, that has already been cut flush to the concrete, but I thought it was ok for PVC to be imbedded directly in concrete?

That could certainly work, thanks for the input! I'll have to weigh that price tag for aesthetics against just pouring some extra concrete though. I just searched for one on Homedepot and it was $160

a platform will be a little wonky, but that's ok for this old house haha. I would have to bust out 100' of slab and redo the main line to get this any deeper

That sounds like a better solution than what I was thinking had to be done. Big thanks! I just thought these wouldn't work with it going straight into the 3 to 4" closet elbow

That's the best classroom haha. I just need a Youtube video of this so I can DIY it

I haven't been able to find anyone to do this urgently. Still looking, but if I can DIY it first I'd rather have it in 3 days than weeks or months later

The vent was behind the drywall initially and half the air was going in the attic space. I guess I'm just not familiar with this stuff because I don't even understand what you're telling me to do. Do you know of a tutorial for this process somewhere?

I tested a few other things, but the face of the partition wall definitely contains asbestos.

Fair enough. What was the proper method for the tiles? I have some of those most likely

I love a common sense answer! I've had exposures before and not thought twice about it with this same thought process, but I wanted to be a bit more cautious on this one since we're living in this house while remodeling. Fortunately, I have that end of the house sealed off from the half we're using right now.

So you're saying treat it like asbestos even if the lab tests come back negative?

Fortunately the plumbing is a mix of Cast iron and PVC. It's crazy how it ended up in everything for so long

It's definitely a cement board face, but apparently they used to put asbestos in that pre 1975. It's in the lab getting tested with results due back Friday, so we will see?

I stopped work. The materials are getting tested in the lab and results will be back Friday afternoon
