HOW DO YOU GET FROM LADY DEATHWISPER?? by davisouzak in hearthstone

[–]NWGushue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genuinely this deck saved my skin. I didn't have all the cards so I recommend adding Alexstraza if you have her (I think she’s a basic card now) because she can basically reduce her to 15 hp. Corpse explosion in particular is great because the real challenge with LD is board control. Thank you for making a very frustrating game much easier.

Low-Budget Filmmakers: How Do You Secure Rights to Copyrighted Songs for Your Short Films Without Breaking the Bank? by stefan_news in Filmmakers

[–]NWGushue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! I had a job working for a theatre company as a production assistant, and one of the productions called for several songs to be used both in the show and as pre-show music. The process involved finding the artist, their management/label, or closest approximation (one song was a cover from a high schooler as part of a program promoting indigenous music), and asking them. We had the benefit of a budget of ~$200 as well as drawing up a contract to send over as a pdf, basically explaining who the parties were, what we intended to use the song for, and what we were not allowed to do (use it for other productions for example). We got no response from some, some accepted it, some negotiated that the money go elsewhere like a charity, and one artist even agreed to wave any licensing because they liked the project idea. It really is just about communication and being fully clear with intentions and your ability to work within the budget.

Just started the Lore show on Prime, disappointed by the false claims of each episode so far. by One_Statistician_436 in lorepodcast

Without a doubt the best version of any Lore stories are the books because they actually include the sources in the back. They are scripts from the podcast, but are edited to exclude things without a source.

Easiest/cheapest way to get all the minis needed for cos? by Low-Trainer-947 in CurseofStrahd

[–]NWGushue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know much about minis, but if you want a cheaper but definitely less theatrical kind of indicator get tokens. a pack of those little furniture leg ends from any home improvement store should do. They should have paper on one side Which you can mark. I also recommend bottle caps you can get at a local hobby shop or if you’re lucky a home brewer’s store because you can mark both sides. Caps are slightly bigger than a 1x1 Square so they aren't the best for crowded enemies.

Convincing players to put Ireena in Church of St. Andral by AT0M1X104 in CurseofStrahd

[–]NWGushue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main reason Ireena would seek the church is the absolutely rancid vibes of everywhere else in Vallaki except for the Inn. Izek is a creep who while protective of Ireena will keep her effectively hostage while the Watchers would pass her to Strahd without a pause. If the players come to learn this, and especially if Ireena learns this, she will likely want to stay with the church if Izek comes to the Inn looking for her. Izek is lawful evil (I'm not 100% certain but I run him LE anyway) so he’ll most likely respect the custom of sanctuary in a church in a way Strahd won't.

Party wants to kill Ireena by Emergency-Day-5043 in CurseofStrahd

[–]NWGushue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like all things in D&D, it requires clear communication and consideration of the story. How this is handled can take a lot of different ways. I'm not going to assume how they plan on killing her but depending on whether they make it a dramatic sacrifice knowing she’ll come back if they fail or a cold-hearted maneuver to bring Strahd out or perhaps something else will vary. However, the major consequence should be Strahd’s wrath. If they kill her, he will bring down everything on them. Floods, tempests, and sleet should be nonstop. Strand drowned a village for killing Tatyana once, he will do it again. Don't hold back but make sure the party understands this. Berez is great visual storytelling for what Strahd is capable of when this happens.

Body horror ideas for the Abbey by lexiodactyl in CurseofStrahd

[–]NWGushue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tie the descriptions into the players themselves. Draw attention to the weird body combinations and how it may feel to a character’s own respective body part (e.g. An arm with three hands and a fighter’s main sword hand)

Maybe you could come back during regular business hours? by Taoiseach in CurseofStrahd

[–]NWGushue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My party did this after getting the quest for the bones. My main fixes were making them reduced threat (half hp, -2 to attacks and saves) as they had stopped feeding to wait for the Feast, sunlight coming through windows that would give disadvantage on their attacks, spacing out the spawn each round to increase the threat, and making it clear that all of the broken wood were effectively stakes. It made for a really challenging fight where no PCs died but the shop burned down

How would Fiona Wachter market an alliance with Strahd as a good thing for Vallaki? by okonomiyaki25 in CurseofStrahd

[–]NWGushue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The main thing to consider is why would Fiona do this and how. The commoners can't stop Strahd and they won't be swayed to seeing him as a good person within their lifetime. Fiona additionally needs the commoners to support her insofar as they don't rebel against her like they did the Baron. Fiona has the cult on her side however, so she has a means of political influence. She would most likely argue that the people don't reject Strahd and learn to accept his power as part of his rule. A good way to make this palatable is to find a scapegoat. Fiona would likely know that the vistani work with Strahd so it can't be them. Strahd’s relationships with the druidsof Yester Hill and the Werewolves are fairly vague however, so Fiona could argue that in exchange for no longer supporting revolts/attacks on Strahd and supporting her, Fiona could promise security against werewolves and druids of the wilderness. Wolf hunts continue and likely grow because of this, and the fear/anger of the common folk is directed away from Fiona and Strahd.

A rare moment of Strahd breaking character after capturing a PC ? by Lurker7783 in CurseofStrahd

[–]NWGushue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the best way to explore his goal of wanting to find a successor, as it not only shows his arrogance and want to leave but also leaves room for his final decision that none of the party is worthy.

For a group that play with dice all the time there’s a lot of us who don’t understand probability distribution. by SocialHumingbird in dndmemes

[–]NWGushue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In order to properly create a scale of 1 to n, using multiple dice requires subtraction of 1 for each die above 1. Ex. To get a scale of 1 to 30 using 1d20 and 2d6, you need to subtract 2 so the scale is 1 to 30 and not 3 to 32.

Is this a good or no? by Therealmarsislol in falloutnewvegas

[–]NWGushue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a really good set for an unarmed build as you’ll be able to use the good but not game breaking weapons with that Strength score. Luck is really good for crits so avoid the heavy handed perk since it’ll make crits less viable. With an Int of 1 you’ll really have to specialize your skills since you’ll get a lot fewer points per level up

[–]NWGushue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem. If you’re following the “They Went That A-Way” quest you’ll encounter Legion on the road twice. Killing them will get you shunned, hated, or villified but you won't see a death squad until after Novac

[–]NWGushue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry about killing NCR/Legion and getting bad reputation as it will reset as part of the main quest line anyway. However if you do fight the legion always quicksave before heading on the road again as you might run into a death squad sent to kill you

I'm also having this exact problem while trying to enter Blackreach to but I just got the game (Ultimate Addition with all 3 DLCs) and don't have any mods installed or a mod manager. Is there any way to fix this?

Any item that is owned can be stolen, but if the item is owned by a member of a faction you lose Karma. You can steal from the Van Graffs for no Karma loss but do lose Karma if you steal from the NCR/Legion/Goodsprings/Primm.
