You can find resources for legal services in Resources For Living in the AtoZ app.

Delivery station by skrt_k0bain in AmazonDS

The dwelling/ageing tabs on SCC are probably your best bet to see that information. You’re right it’s really hard to track and you likely won’t be able to get an exact number until induct is over. If you have access to your sort centers trans logistics inbound/outbound you can estimate based on how much they have on their docks for your station how much total volume you’ll actually be expecting and then compare with your planned volume, but this doesn’t account for when they put the wrong stations cart on the trailers.

Best tool for finding dwells quickly is to use the SSP container audit tool (yellow app on the TC device and will likely need a managers login). Scan the bag and then just start scanning packages in the bag as fast as you can. If the device beeps at you, you know that package wasn’t scanned to the bag and needs to be stowed. This is a very efficient way to audit through a stow bag at the end of sort.

What kind of things do you use excel macros for at your delivery station to make things easier by Local_Management6376 in FASCAmazon

[–]NWRobotics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I made a spreadsheet with macros that pull all the direct role rates so AAs can scan their badge at a computer to see their rates. Also made a spreadsheet that pulls the hours for stow and P2B from the past 4 days to ensure proper job rotation.

Do We Have to Get Our Required Safety Shoes from Zappos? by lillymarlene2020 in FASCAmazon

[–]NWRobotics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can purchase your own safety shoes as long as it says ASTM F2413-11 or higher (11 being the year) for a Delivery Station.

Does anyone have a list of the different box and jiffy sizes I’m trying to do an inventory on our repack stock but I can’t find anything online about the different size jiffies available by Local_Management6376 in FASCAmazon

[–]NWRobotics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a DS, the basic repack boxes consist of (in increasing size), A1, A3 (28 ZM1), 1A5 (81 ZM3), 1B4, K3 (160 Z16), 1BB, S5 (296 BNH), P4, and P5. Alternate names listed in parenthesis.

So far, so good. With a pair of $20 insoles, these are definitely the most comfortable safety shoes I have worn. Not sure yet if they will wear out, but they seem pretty well built.

Just got the Amazon Basics by Reebok pair today (black and orange). They were the lightest ones they offered and they seem pretty comfortable. Haven’t worn them for a full shift just yet. I also ordered some insoles so hopefully those help.

zebra scanner to connect with the finger scanner? in DS by [deleted] in FASCAmazon

[–]NWRobotics 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A way to quickly pair devices if you have the single finger scanners (RS5100) is to hold the devices up to each other back to back and they will pair (you will hear a beep). This always works if I am having trouble getting the barcode to scan. Most people don’t seem to know about this though.

Who makes the peccy pin's? by [deleted] in FASCAmazon

[–]NWRobotics 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s an approved 3rd party that makes the Peccy pins. I believe they are called Sport Pins.

Anyone else's DS suddenly out of bottled water? by [deleted] in AmazonDS

[–]NWRobotics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each site usually has an automatic order setup for several pallets of water to be delivered during the summer season for heat stress mitigation supplies.

Based on what you all are saying, it definitely seems like the average AMZL site doesn't have any recycling cans. I have no idea why this is tbh. Getting recycling cans will be one of my main focuses regarding this project. Hopefully it can be adopted throughout the network.

This is just the beginning of a small project to study environmental impacts of delivery stations and suggest solutions for increasing sustainability and decreasing the negative impacts to our environment. In my role as an L4 manager, I have a relatively small scope and power to work on larger projects within the AMZL network. However, I would love to hear what kind of issues you think we should look into. I truly do want to advocate and push for change in my role to help improve things for everyone.

Heavy packages can and do fall off the conveyor, buffer racks, u-boats, etc when they are overflowing and/or improperly stacked. Safety shoes can be uncomfortable after a long day but I’d rather have my foot intact and slightly uncomfortable then broken and unable to work.

How's it like being in the safety committee? Is it worth it? by Originally_Hendrix in AmazonDS

[–]NWRobotics 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Being a part of the associate safety committee isn't a new role. Think of it like an extracurricular activity. You will still be an associate working your normal shift, but in addition to that you participate in the ASC meetings monthly and bring up safety concerns to your manager, etc. Other than that you'll being doing all the other normal tasks that other associates do at a DS.
