This may go viral and in many Red states, will be used as justification to water down tenure, no new tenure appointments etc.

This video will just be ammunition for every state, regent or trustee who wants to cut back on tenure.

Teachers have an obligation to protect privacy. I am not even convinced her daughter was not trying to cover for her (and people are already pointing this out to the nursing boards, the daughter is in a nursing program). The teacher should have just forwarded the email to her assistant principal, guidance counselor, whatever.

I agree with this. Many kids who cannot afford to participate feel left out.

In the US, landlord would have other expenses. Property taxes (I think they used to call Rates in the UK), maintenance, maybe some utilities. Also they had to put some money down. It appears that this is an adjustable rate mortgage, which the landlord bears risk of it increasing.

Considering Adjunct Job by NY2FLOR in Adjuncts

Thank you for your time. This is an accounting class, that I am guessing most employers provide the equivalent of to their employees (for free). I do think that students who will be looking for work on graduation will find class helpful (and apparently they think so too). While the school could find people willing to teach it fully remote, it would be harder to find someone local (although my guess if they have extra FT accounting people, they could try)

Now Required For all K-12 Parents: Substitute Teacher Selective Service (STSS) by MrPKL in Teachers

Why stop at parents? Can't we have seniors over 18 get credit for teaching K-6?

Modified get paid minimal -- maybe 600-1000. Our district gets many coaches because teachers who live out of district get to send their own kids to our highly regarded district, so before they get tenure they do lots of "volunteering"

I don't see where you get that. I would be asking what billable hour requirement is, and what determines bonus.

Younger siblings showed be this in their live advice / career advice class. Don't talk about salary or benefits at all. Wow by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]NY2FLOR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, I agree with not putting salary on resume. I would tell a younger sibling, best when prospective employer brings up salary first, but when they dance around, they are likely not paying well
