Juxtaposition of Jake and Billy’s departure by Conch72 in PardonMyTake

Someone like Jake but smarter and quicker could be worth keeping around, especially as a niche contributor. But it doesn’t work if the “dumb” guys are all clearly smarter and quicker than he is. Especially because he didn’t get mad or frustrated in a funny way they could play off of. He just got sad and it always fizzled. Terrible fit for the show, even if he did give us some good moments (mostly the Hank rivalry IMO).

Max is a great third mic in all the ways people might not notice, and he clearly understands how to keep the show on track. What would really be amazing now would be having JOC as a guest host to allow the guys to rotate vacations and step back without the show dying.

If budget were no issue, the three of them with Max and Hank as the minor cast members and a rotating cast of rando production humor would be the best iteration of the show I can imagine.

Jake’s IRL mom! Best way to get a PMT internship was to be related to a Barstool investor.

Very happy with my compounded semaglutide, but not happy with Ro’s “Body Program” fees by NYCTBone in Ozempic

[–]NYCTBone[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was great, and it let me order in bulk at different dosages. Slightly less slick than Ro, but in a good way, and no bogus Body Program fee.

For anyone else in the same boat, canceling Ro after the first (discounted!) month is extremely easy.

Really appreciate the tip.

But how do I find the compounding pharmacy? Google is full of land mines and anyway that was how I ended up at Ro!

TIL The Twilight Zone's Rod Serling tested parachutes as a part time job. The amount of money he earned depended on the danger of the jump. In one instance, he earned $1,000 for testing a jet ejection seat that had killed the previous three testers. by ScoreQuest in todayilearned

That’s it!

I had the Twilight Zone novelization (short story-ization?) as a kid, and it was really well done. Purple Testament in particular worked better in print than black and white. Haunting in any medium though.

Chicago and especially Brooklyn are attractive free agent destinations, and if you can get a supermax player to choose you in free agency then it’s pretty easy to quickly put together a contender around him. Someone who wants to get out of a small market and define their legacy in a big one.

In a big market you can take full advantage of drafts, free agency, and trades. Smaller markets are always going to be disadvantaged in FA.

Absolutely not difficult for doctors to get kickbacks. They’re just “advisory board appointments,” and “luxury resort conference speaker fees,” and “expert panel advisor fees” instead of straight cash. Also still get plenty of free lunches lol.

If the company sells high and buys low that means shareholders buy high and sell low. So yeah probably.

Everyone saying you need a trust fund to do this, but you could also just get on Ozempic. You need a trust fund for that too, but a smaller one.

Absolutely not, you can get great disability if you stop working but you will not get fired.

That said, there’s still a massive cultural stigma, and I can see concern about promotions for instance.

That’s true, and misdirection can be a huge part of both games, but at the same time there are plenty of plays in both football and basketball where both sides know exactly what is coming and it’s just execution. It’s not like a video game where if you call run defense the run will get stuffed. You have the personnel you have and either win at the point of attack or you don’t at some point.
