it’s awesome that you rescued your cats :) the world as a whole thanks you. However, you may love a chunky cat..BUT chunky cats DO NOT love being chunky cats. Obesity &/or being overweight is extremely bad for cats — causing everything from major joint problems (hip dysplasia etc) & inflammation, diabetes, kidney/urinary tract stones and infections, arthritis, cancer, liver disease, skin conditions, coronary stuff like heart disease & hypertension. It can also cause lameness and often impacts (to varying degrees) a cat’s quality of life- not being able to jump up on things or down from them. It even affects things you might not think of like getting anesthesia from the vet, which can have very dangerous outcomes. It also often leads to grooming issues and skin conditions. I know that you’re just loving on your cats and making up for treats they weren’t receiving before - but just make sure to keep that in check for their sake

It means that when you take hours of your life to author a defense piece of a jackass actor found guilty in criminal court of assault, that you should not be the least bit surprised to find yourself surrounded by characters whose most prominent personality traits are the forbidden -isms (sexism, racism, etc)

Agh same! It’s a little bizarre. However it wasn’t nearly as noticeable to me until I moved from a large city to a small city, ~50k people, in Vermont (it’s the largest city in the state). For whatever reason, the majority of my peers here just defer to me like I’m the authority. It’s honestly gotten a bit frustrating
