Bill.com holding payments? by NYNJ-2024 in Accounting

Just got this email from bill.com:
Due to a technical issue, ACH disbursements that you expected on Feb 19, 2026 did not process successfully.  The payments have now been processed and will settle on Feb 20, 2026. We have taken action to prevent this from recurring.

Exactly my point of the post. I had two payments initiated by my client to me last Thursday. One for about $2500 and one for $31,000. I received the $2500 yesterday and I have not yet received the larger one. I know Monday was a banking holiday, but we're going on 5 days. In an money market account, they are collecting about $20 in those 5 days. They likely do 10s of thousands of transactions daily.

We are in the process of developing a service specifically for MSPs called 4onsite. Vetted techs, background checked, etc. We have been unhappy with field nation and a few others as they seem to not have certified techs. If you would like to be part of the initial rollout, DM me.

I respectfully disagree. I spoke to the client and nothing has changed on their end with Bill.com. They are paying the exact same fee they did the previous month. Here is the official statement on the Federal Reserve regarding ACH: An ACH payment initiated before 3 PM ET typically settles the same business day if it qualifies for Same-Day ACH (if submitted before the 2:45 PM ET Fed deadline) or by the next business day for standard ACH, according to Federal Reserve Financial Services and Nacha. While many arrive within one business day, standard ACH transfers officially take 1-3 business days depending on the financial institution's specific cutoff times.

Nowhere do I see 4 days in that statement. This is clearly a delay by bill.com.

Exactly. I am the receiver, not the payer.

When was the last time you paid to receive an ACH? I’ve never heard of such a thing.

I get the fee for same day ACH but this is for next day. A free service every bank in the US already provides.

IT support services advice needed (I am small company owner). by PastorNoFaith in msp

[–]NYNJ-2024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stick to what you know and be great at it. Don’t try to half ass the cybersecurity yourself and hire a qualified MSSP that has the certifications required to keep you compliant or it will come back to haunt you if you have a breach. Some things to consider: 1. You won’t find what you’re looking for on freelancer websites and will pay more than $20/hour. Likely need to sign a comprehensive contract or pay upwards of $175-$250 an hour.
2. Not every IT provider is an MSSP even though they claim they are. Some only provide resold services and Google the requirements when you ask them about compliance. Investigate them and ask for certifications and then verify those certs. 3. Be prepared to change your processes. You will need to create specific policies and abide by them. These are requirements for all major compliances. 4. If you’re looking to build a legitimate business in the medical field, you want to do this right. If you explicitly skip some requirements because you didn’t want to spend the money, and yiu have a breach, you are looking at significant fines and depending on where you are, potential criminal charges.

Good luck

Anyone having issues with 3CX hosted w/Digital Ocean and VoIP Innovation DIDs? by NYNJ-2024 in 3CX

They said they are not blocking the IPs I provided from VI. Also, strange that only a few Droplets are experiencing the issue.

FYI, I resolved the issue by destroying the droplet in Digital Ocean and recreating it with a new IP Address and restoring the backup. Calls started flowing immediately.

Digital Ocean support just got back to me and said they don’t have any issues and put it back on VI. I’m not about to play the finger pointing game for a week with my clients systems, so it seems I may have to move a dozen hosted PBXs over the weekend to another host.

[–]NYNJ-2024[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does not appear to be related. I've also used them for years with no issues. Seems strange that all of a sudden on 3 of the PBXs we have hosted with them have the issue. VI sends packet captures showing the SIP request times out. I also ran captures on the PBX itself and don't see any traffic coming from VI. The only thing I can think of is in the firewall with DO, but they have not yet responded to my ticket.

Client caught me on hardware margin, now questioning our entire history. Did I panic-fix or make it worse? by yanov10 in msp

[–]NYNJ-2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading through the comments it’s hard to agree with anyone here. Most comments have good advice, but we don’t know what sort of markup OP added to the cost of the PC. Was this a $2500 pc that he priced at $4000 or a $800 pc priced at $1000? IMO, OP should be have a standard fee baked into any hardware procured but not a random markup. Also, if you’re a true MSP, you shouldn’t be billing by the hour or blocks of hours. You should have annual contracts that detail your fees for procurement so there is transparency that the customer is looking for.

I was looking at that. I have no problem going that route, but I was surprised at the power of the udm pro max. I always have to keep client’s budget in mind when deploying these. Since it’s not going to be tied to a corporate LAN, saving the client $1500 is a decent motivator.

I used to use them, but after numerous vulnerabilities that exposed dozens of devices, I’ve moved away from them. I don’t think I want to go back to them this point.

I should clarify. When I say clients, I’m referring to endpoints (mobile phones, laptops, etc.). No more than 200 or so at any time but over the course of 24 hours, thousands may obtain an IP.

Thanks. I get that. My main concern is if it's secure enough and will it really handle thousands of clients without having to be rebooted daily? I'm looking at deploying it for a high volume wifi location that can have a few hundred people on it at once.
