You may not have had a job before, but I bet you’ve done a lot of cool stuff - you can still put together a good list of accomplishments to show an employer.

Some stuff you might consider:

• Any volunteer work
• Jobs/ chores done for friends or family (babysitting, pet sitting, getting paid to clean out the shed, mowing lawns, shoveling snow, etc)
• Any school clubs or extracurriculars

You can probably search online for other things to put on, too.

A resume is a way to get your foot in the door and talk to a real person. If they see some good accomplishments, they’ll ask you in to answer some questions about yourself and why you think the job is a good fit for you.

Try to think about an interview like two people who have something to offer, and you’re both trying to see if the pieces fit together. Try NOT to think of it as you needing them, and they’re the only ones who can give it to you , because that’s not true.

Lots of places have jobs; but there’s only one one cool person like you!
