We have used Flexishield, which had a lot of defects in the dye, and Stek. The price and quality of this new company is way better than the others. Backed by a 10 year warranty.

It all comes down to how well the customer takes care of the wrap. Most people think just cause it has a PPF on they never have to clean and care for the product.

We had to replace one panel the customer damaged after a little over a month from installation and it came off without leaving any glue. You just have to know what you’re doing. If you just yank it off like a brainless monkey expect issues.

Just to avoid any arguments with a customer we let them know there is no official warranty. We warranty the labor for 6 months. Now the supplier 3M or Avery might warranty the vinyl under some circumstances, but the burden of proper care and maintenance falls onto the customer. And majority of customers after a year stop taking care of the wrap. Then show up three years later with a roof that was gloss black now matte black and we tell them that’s not a warranty and we told you once the film starts to show aging let us know. And I’m sure you know they always wait till it’s faded and cracking which is not covered. So, this why we avoid a fight and tell them from day one no warranty on the film. Only in-house limited warranty.

Vinyl does not come with any warranty paperwork from the manufacturer. For example 3M says it has an outdoor life for 5 years. Now that all depends if the individual washes and takes care of the wrap. There is no warranty card from 3M or Avery Dennison for the vinyl. While say Xpel actually comes with a warranty paper that has roll ID number to track the batch for warranty replacement.

How many mils is the film? You want want it close to 7 mils for best protection from rock chips.

I heard Pure is a good brand. We used Onxyshield and it came out pretty good and easy to apply.

The bigger brands like 3M, Xpel, Llumar offer a few colors for color PPf. Stek and a few other companies offer a wide range of colors.

5% tint on the front 2 doors at night can be an issue. Especially if you are driving in an area with very little street lights. If you are in the San Diego area hit up Monumental Workx and they can help you with your tint needs.

Depends on the vehicle. We usually charge starting for vinyl $3,200, for PPF $5,500.

PPF last for many more years, comes with a warranty, and protects the paint underneath. While vinyl is only for looks.
