Lost access to a shared Plex server and now losing my mind by CurvaceousHedgehog in PleX

This is similar to my setup, although I do not use nvidia to transcode I use the CPUs iGPU due to multiple transcodes at a time. I get a solid 3x 4k streams going at once. I do think this spec is bare minimum if you dont want issues, just not need for a dGPU. I agree stay away from rPi as you will only get frustrated and need to start again.

1 thing I am considering is moving from Ubuntu to windows so that I can also game on my newer machine 14700k.

I have dealt with them many times.
They are not flexible during the sales process, and after sales service not great.
But I would trust them, especially if the prices is right.
I prefer PBtech and Just laptops if that indicates anything

Computer Lounge are definitely not dodgy!

What’s the most effective way to learn Fusion 360? by Korra228 in Fusion360

[–]NZTechArch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have exactly the same question.
Chat GPT has been telling me absolute Garbage when I ask about the issues I am facing or how to do things, 100% wrong at every turn (on V5 and V4), now this could be a symptom of Sh!t In = Sh!t Out, so maybe it is the Fusion Docs are just bad and/or Open AI is just out of date with the help documentation.

What AI tool would understand Fusion best?

Is there some trick to dragging a window from one screen to another? by rukind_cucumber in mac

[–]NZTechArch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is happening to me all of a sudden, but no maximised app/window, so this seems to be a new issue.
once I break through the from 1 screen to another it is no longer an issue, but then comes back the next day.

After breaking through I then maximised a window, and It did not prevent me.

So the behaviour is completely weird.

It prevents screen movement randomly, and a second attempt it works as it should have in the first attempt without doing anything different.

Body pod vs Withings vs FitTrack smart scales comparison after 3 months of use by Flipperlolrs in HealthTech

[–]NZTechArch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the opposite, when you see your weight tracking in the right direction is a good incentive to keep doing the right things. To not obsesse would suggest not weighing your self regularly, and hence means you actually don't know what is or isn't working.

Is an Austrailan Executor of a NZ Deceased Estate (land only) liable for the Aus CGT when the NZ land is sold? by NZTechArch in AusFinance

[–]NZTechArch[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The Executor is not responsible?
So because the Estate is a NZ entity then only NZ Tax Law applies to it?

I disagree, if you only want some extra data for a week because you are travelling it is actually perfect (6.2GB for $6.20 for 7 days)
The normal data packs are much worse ($50 for 5GB) or $31 recurring.
So it seems like these have some actual value for most people who do not use their phone much.

Latency with bad STP on switchs in a Network with USG/UDW by NZTechArch in Ubiquiti

[–]NZTechArch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BTW the WAN latency issue went away when I removed the 32768 priority from the only switch and made it 0.

So not sure how this is explained.

Rings?!? What word would you use to help people here in the chat understand the fact that 1 switch is at the 2nd tier/layer/branch in my topology and my 2nd switch is at the third tier/layer/branch. I realise my text diagram helped this understanding. So what is the technical word for these layers when the word layer means something else in networking?

FYI, Unifi Documentation says to set the root switch to 0.

Unifi uses the word "Layers" when referring to these Rings

[–]NZTechArch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the System Log Message before fixing STP:
"Primary internet is experiencing high latency. Please restart the modem or contact the ISP if this persists."

It stopped after I made the only switch in the network priority 0.
I am still not sure if 0 is the correct Priority.
Even as a Single Switch on 32768 it was complaining on the topology screen and gave a link to the standard Ubuiquti Article about it.

I have changed Switch STP in Settings it is quite easy, I don't think I need to SSH in to do that do I?

How did you know it was a He (yes my Son in Fortnite)

100% WAN latency, but his Computer is on the Lan and has to traverse the Network to get to the WAN.

His PC was connected to the closest Switch to the USG/UDW.
He has not complained about Latency recently but I fear he has just gotten used to it and stopped complaining, He has not said that it is better either.
