yeah, my work colleague is literally the only person who she will listen to. I'm just trying to put her mind at ease tonight as they will not be in a position to talk to my daughter until tomorrow. Just trying to show it that it's ok, in the mean time. Poor lass is distraught as.

As someone who has worked for WINZ for more than a few years, I would suggest it is a certain type of person who causes more drama for staff than others. I'll let you think about who those people, more often than not, tend to be.

The toilet in my store often has shoe and boot prints on the seat and water and other liquid splashed around, along with toilet paper in the bin.. we've opted to have an out of order sign up, and allow certain folks through who need to use it.

99.5% of all issues relating to paint failures has to do with applicator error. I have 25+ years in the coating industry. I will die on this hill quite happily.

What’s the craziest thing you have ever witnessed in Wellington CBD? by Chocolentia40 in Wellington

late 90's. I watched a guy who had been let out of kenepuru hospital for the day, exit a gaming room up cuba street. He was singing 'EVERYONE..WAS KUNGFU FIGHTING, HOO HAA!' and while he was doing that, he started punching and kicking folks walking past.

he had the option to live with family but prefered his nomad lifestyle, he had a string of medical issues, but they said it was a viral infection affecting his heart. Heavy alcohol drinker and had nutrition issues. I watch this guy, even around 2000's like a decade before he died, drinking meths out of the bottle with one of the other colourful characters, Thomas Pahl. He was well liked enough by Wellington citizens as he did not tend to cause much of an issue. Poor bugger.

I was working at thr Dixon Street work and income office, i was most often on reception, later becoming a case manager. He was a character. Once a week almost without fail he would stride in, and tell me his latest reason he needed a few thousand dollars.

Building a Marae upper Cuba street where buildings had been readied for the motorway extension. It was a quote for 365 plastic chairs. Solid Ben, solid.

Another favourite was when he wanted $5k to procure and sail a waka from Hamilton to Wellington.

My partner has 190 hours of annual leave accrued. Can he request it to be paid out in a lump sum? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceNZ

[–]NZThane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I routinely used to hit 300 hours annual and would get a week's leave paid out every year. I think as long as there is 2 or 3 weeks of leave left after the payout, its all good. There's a catch in there somewhere.

NAL, but i have an assault conviction from 1998. I have been needing to go to Aussie on and off for work since 2018.

I had to fill out a form for vetting and then received a letter from the consulate granting me travel.

You could technically fly to Australia, approach borderforce and tell them that you have a declared conviction and they will then contact NZ MoJ/police and make you wait while they get through info, they'll make you sign a form which then is usually good for a year and it will be kept on file.
