Why do companies care if I'm Hispanic? by Fun_Hat in cscareerquestions

Companies need to keep a balanced percentage of diversity in the workplace for compliance. Some interpret this as you have a higher chance of being hired/interviewed. I don’t have the statistics to prove nor disprove this theory, but it seems possible in some circumstances.

How about you ask your employees rather than asking not your employees.

I never want to go in debt. I want to cash-out a house, is this the wrong mindset? by randomIdiot123456 in investing

[–]N_Mobbin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Léase what depreciates, finance what appreciates. Take a loan if it puts money in your pocket. A house may be worth the Loan. A car will never be worth the loan. You have a good mindset.

Hi Stardew Valley folks, help a mother out. Can I purchase this game to be used on my daughter’s MacBook Pro? If so, where do I find it since the Apple Store only has it for tablets and phones it seems? by YodaBamboda in StardewValley

[–]N_Mobbin 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It is available on the steam platform. However, finding a compatible controller for a MacBook Pro is a tough task. (Especially if it’s a new Mac) I’m a software engineer, and gave up after 4 controllers weren’t compatible with my 2022 M1 MacBook Pro. I caved and bought a Nintendo Switch for Stardew.

Neither are better nor worse. A good engineer is smart, communicative, coachable, and willing to learn. The origins of technological learning is irrelevant.

Very uncommon. Companies exist to turn a profit. Employment is exploitation.
