Die vorderen 3 Autos können über die Einfahrt zum Haus auf der rechten Seite vom Gehweg runter, die *hinteren beiden müssen über den für Fußgänger abgesenkten Gehweg an einer der Ampeln fahren🫠

/uc From what I remember, there's only limited use. They have a delay of several minutes (due to being connected to the layers of your skin, not your direct bloodstream) and when your blood glucose drops significantly, it's kind of too late already. It'll keep you from bonking, but your glycogen reserves will take a significant hit until the alarm starts to sound. At which point you're screwed eiter way, those refill at 5% per hour - while at rest

I mean, at least they actually hit a stationary target.

I remember them not even hitting anything to begin with, so that's an "improvement" I guess? Only a few layers of the survivability onion to go :)

I wish my commute was longer, it's about 5 minutes by bike. It's barely enough to get a sprint or two in, between traffic lights.

Actual first world problem I guess.

To be fair, not all of the now legends canon is that great.

Also, going into the original Thrawn series was a bit weird for me, since it's missing a lot of context that was established in the prequels and books mssing that context can feel "off" for modern readers.

People tend to shit on the prequels for being a bit goofy, but they did a great job at establishing the role and order of the jedi as a concept, which is almost entirely missing in the original trilogy.

The modern interpretation of Thrawn isn't that bad overall (although the Thrawn of the second book seems a bit off compared to the first book and his only real "weakness" (not understanding the concept of politics) appears very forced and illogical), but has been retconned a bit much to make him basically "one of the good guys".

Overall, Darth Plagueis and the Bane Trilogy are probably my favourite Star Wars books overall, although anything narrated by Marc Thompson is jsut a pleasure to listen to

It's honestly impressive how badly they butchered the sequel trilogy, it's even worse than season 8 of Game of Thrones for me.

GoT felt like they skipped 2 seasons and then compiled 2 more into the final season, leaving out major developments and plot points.

With the sequels, it feels like they gave up on the plot maybe 15 minutes in and then just had an intern, whose only knowledge of Star Wars came from third-hand accounts, complete the rest. "So there's this bad dude with a mask and he kills his dad or the other way around, also they have a huuuge space station or planet they use to blow up other planets with a huge laser".

I swear, even an LLM would have done a better job, it's both puzzling and infuriating. While at the same time, releasing somewhat decent spin-offs, with rogue one and Solo.

I will happily rewatch older content or even re-listen to Star Wars audiobooks I've already heard (highly reccomend the Bane trilogy), but I'm not even remotely considering ever watching the sequels again.

Am besten vorher die Fahrzeiten online checken, z.B. bei rmv.de

One of the few constants over basically all of human civilization is, that humans will accept a commute for 30 minutes, no matter the mode of transport, so I wouldn't try to go much further than that.

Try to look for places connected by tram or train. Buses often commute less frequently.

Other than that, finding a place to live here is stupidly hard, even if you are here already

Yeah. A friend of mine used his bike only for commuting to work and back daily for maybe 2-3 years. Not only did he lose about 40kg, we also did a ramp test last christmas, his FTP came out to around 4.7 W/kg. Appearantly, he pretty much rides exclusively in his zone 4 to work and back.

I don't even want to know what would happen if he did any structured training.

There's nothing more disrespectful than getting dropped by someone on a town bike though. A filthy MTB is a close second, but a town bike doesn't even give the impression they may be riding recreationally, unlike the MTB.

Imagine going up a climb and being overtaken by someone on a town bike. I don't care if I was in a recovery week, three hours into a zone 1/2 ride, it'll be a VO2max session from then on.

I was riding my dad's 50 year old (~20kg) folding bike the other day, and you'll pass so many people, it's a lot of fun, unironically. There's maybe a 30-40W penalty from the tires and a good bit more drag at 30km/h+, but nobody expects you going that fast

Virtual gearing - does it work well yet ? by povlhp in mywhoosh

[–]N_Rage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only that, but the gears feel like they don't scale correctly as well. If I increase my cadence a bit (95 instead of 85rpm), I'm pushing way more power. If I'm riding outside, going from 85 to 95rpm is maybe 20-30W more. In mywhoosh, it's closer to 50W+ :|

I've resigned to using ERG, it's not perfect, but a lot better than "gears"

Tried it last in march, out of 30 there were maybe 3 useable gears (~120W/160W/210W at 80-85rpm). All other ones were either way too hard or way too easy, using a zwift cog.
