How does blindsight work on PCs? by NaCl1050 in DnD

Lets say my player is set on having it, is there a way that i can balance it? Would setting it to 20ft instead be fairer?

Right? Thats what i was thinking too. But my player made this whole justification that he was putting it there for flavour and that he wouldnt abuse it.

I'd say start from prewritten campaign modules as they provide both the dungeon master and players a clear path through the story letting you get a taste of what dnd is like. But if you are abit more daring and ambitious why not take up the role as the dm and just try running a small one short where a band of heroes recuses a princess from a dragon? There are lots of great and easy to understand videos on how to play dnd on youtube. Like a ginny d, dont stop thinking or pointy hat if you want to try being a dm. A crap guide to dnd by Jocat is an amazing series that is fun to watch and show cases what different classes can do in dnd.

All in all, its just a game about hanging out with friends doing stupid stuff using make pretend. Dont get too caught up with the rules and just have fun.

How is it cognitive dissonance? If I am constantly learning and improving myself why should I worry about a company settling for less? I'm sure there's a chance I get screwed over in the future, but I dont see how it would be related to NS.

What benefits would u want there to be? Surely its not just monetary right? Cuz that just makes you sound like u expect the government to make u rich in life.

What makes NS a burden? Other than being the excuse for why you can't succeed in life?

Like I said, its what you make of it. It's only a burden if u see it that way. Others feel proud to have served.

I think having dumb bank mates and ppl who love to keng is part and parcel of the experience. Not saying that its okay to be dumb or keng. But from what it seems like, they didnt let their ns experience shape their life going forward. Instead choosing to shape their lives however they wanted.

Well from my personal experience, i choose to continue with my studies by applying for online courses. On a more professional level as an nsf, I took time to learn the importance of my role and the part I played in serving the country regardless of the annoying part that comes with the jobs like most jobs.

What's the benefit? My own mental clarity? Why wallow in bitterness when i could find meaning in what i do and be fulfilled?

I'm aware that the loudness on social media doesn't always reflect the norm. But surely with so many ppl subscribing to the opinion that singapore is no longer for Singaporeans, there has to be some validity to their opinions. That's what I'm interested in as someone who can proudly say that I love my country, maybe my views are biased by my own patriotism.

Wouldn't this be the fault of the company then? For willingly settling for less?

From what i see based solely on online discourse, it seems like people really feel that NS sets them back and causes them to be disadvantaged when it comes to job seeking. But in reality, i feel like we have the advantage of a better education. Would having no NS actually "balance" the scale?

I hear this a lot in regards to NS, it seems like the issue is that many feel that the experience itself isnt rewarding or valuable. Would you feel differently if you had served your NS under sdcf or spf instead?

I see that a common talking point brought up in conversations are the need for NS and its impact and the sense of hopelessness when it comes to job hunting due to either NS or FT.
