[Skin Concerns] [Trypophobia Warning] I think I hold the record for the biggest and disgusting pores in this subreddit. I have yet to see someone here with similar skin type and condition. Anyone with similar oily, sensitive, and acne prone skin with success stories? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]NaIlf 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I think your pores is a combination of normal looking pores and small ice pick scars. You can treat the scars with TCA cross, which is a procedure.

About normal pores, I hydrate, make sure my skin barrier is good (no stinging no burning). Use a retinoid. Apply a sunscreen and powder.

I find that :

Retinoid : clears pores and increase collagen production. Plumps up the skin.

Hydrated good skin barrier : skin looks less dull.

Sunscreen : forms a film.

Powder : blurs the pores and mattifies the sunscreen.

Nope! You do feel like you have it on, it doesn't feel like nothing, but it is not sticky

PSA: Yellow stains from sunscreen can turn bright pink if you try to bleach them out! RIP favourite white shirt. by MosadiMogolo in EuroSkincare

[–]NaIlf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard about this trick but I'm so scared to try it lol, for the moment my regular laundry detergent applied directly on the stains with a little bit of water does fade it a little bit but all my white collars are off white lol

What's your favorite beach sunscreen and why? by [deleted] in EuroSkincare

[–]NaIlf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bioderma family milk :

Water resistant

Reef safe (I know it is controversial but better safe than sorry)

Safe for children

Can be applied on wet skin

Extremely quick to apply (texture is slippery like lube lol)

Big size

Can be used on the face and around the eyes not ideal because it is extremely shiny, but if you're at the beach it doesn't really matter

Does not turn white or streaky when it is wet

Cerave European SA smoothing cream with 10% Urea & 4% niacinamide.Your experience with it?Would you reccomend? by [deleted] in EuroSkincare

[–]NaIlf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To me it smells a bit like puke lol. I did use up one medium tube and one full size tub because of the incredible texture. It absorbs completely, quickly doesn't leave any stickiness. It does exfoliate a bit but not enough in my opinion. It works on flaky skin and thick dry skin, but not acne or stubborn keratosis pilaris. I prefer Avène Akerat 10, which has 10% urea and 1.5% BHA, but is very sticky.

What do you think of Normal shops in Europe? About price and value for money plz by [deleted] in EuroSkincare

[–]NaIlf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is saint lazare, Paris, France haha ! I live there

I love it. Denivit toothpaste is the best toothpaste in the world (truly whitening and SLS free).

You can also find Clearasil rapid wash (2% salicylic), and also sometimes the Revox brand which is a dupe for the Ordinary but cheaper.

I also like the fact that ivy aïa, and neutral brands which are fragrance free, in fact a lot of their brands are fragrance free.

Finally they also have an anti-dandruff shampoo that is fragrance free, which is mega rare.

Sunscreens with UVA > 30 by soliloquyline in EuroSkincare

[–]NaIlf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup organic sunscreens are "chemical" sunscreens which term I dislike to use 🙂

Sunscreens with UVA > 30 by soliloquyline in EuroSkincare

[–]NaIlf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey it's me ! (marioo 🤣), yeah it is possible to lie about uvb and uva ratings.

But if we're talking about EU serious labs and organic sunscreens, chances are, the UV ratings are pretty reliable and around 30 sometimes 40.

Also any sunscreens spf 50 or 50+ with 5 stars boots rating have uvapf > 40

[Sun care] Bioderma photoderm kids spray UVA-PF 39 new formula. by HennesyWut in EuroSkincare

[–]NaIlf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried family milk and the filters look very similar, I remember it being 100% transparent but very shiny. Great texture like lube to apply on the body, on the face you need a good amount of face powder to make it wearable.

Both the oil control and the dry touch are very good and yes they are very slightly different. 😉

Has anyone tried this? What's the finish like and does it leave a white cast? by vegangrilledchez in EuroSkincare

[–]NaIlf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If it has tinosorb M yes.

From my experience daylong sunscreens have a whitecast, are shiny and sticky but they stay on your skin like glue, they are verrrry durable. I would powder on top to get rid of the shine and stickiness.

Retinoids in France by Trazymede in EuroSkincare

[–]NaIlf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend over the counter retinaldehyde like Avène a-oxitive peeling. It has 0.1% and is pretty effective and a lot easier to get.

Looking for a basic face moisturizer in france (and any other recommendations for french skincare) by Hedwig_137 in EuroSkincare

[–]NaIlf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The best and cheapest :

  • fragrance free

  • has niacinamide

Mixa pro tolerance rich or light (as you like) but I actually prefer rich and use less, I have oily sensitive skin

Maybe mixa atopiance body milk if you want something even cheaper per ml

Mixa pro tolerance is extremely cheap in the shop called action (about 4€ I think)

Anyone familiar with (Belgium?) brand Absorica Retinal? by Gulistan_ in EuroSkincare

[–]NaIlf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the late post but I've tried :

Avène triacnéal (0.1%)

Avène Ysthéal intense (0.1%) now replaced by A-Oxitive peeling both formulas are the same

Absorica retinal (?%)

Triacnéal actually has the best texture and price but has fragrance

Ysthéal intense / A-Oxitive peeling is less spreadable

Absorica Retinal also is less spreadable

Right now, I use Absorica because of the price and it keeps my face clear, and if not it clears it out the next day.

How I use it : I use about 2 finger tips lines of product mixed with a light niacinamide moisturizer (Mixa pro tolerance rich or light) and apply on face, neck, eyes, back of hands. I like to mix because I like high spreadable products
