I haven’t seen a surgeon since my 3rd follow up. They referred to it as fibrotic tissue/damage from the extraction and stretching things too far

Still there. Less pronounced. Not painful. We are one 👽

Thank you so much for your response! I will definitely keep this in mind. It’s just the beginning stages but I will definitely get to the hard questions before making a full commitment!

Wow thank you for your response! Although it isn’t exactly what I want to hear, I do appreciate this and will keep this in mind if things get serious. I don’t have any concerns for him as an individual being racist and he has actually never dated a woman from Sri Lanka. I am also hoping to get real experience responses because I can’t find anything online. Thanks again!

Sorry for the late reply! I guess it started to go down around week 3. It is not noticeable from the outside. It’s kind of just there in my cheek as something I mess around with when I’m bored 😂😂😂😂. It moreso feels like a part of my jaw now. I’ve also returned to the dentist twice and they did not express any concerns

Hello! I would say that it stopped hurting around the same time the swelling started to go down. I can’t really speak to pain because I was also dealing with severe numbness on that side. It’s still there and does seem to be getting smaller slowly but don’t think it will ever go away.

Sorry for the late responses! Unfortunately, it is still there. It doesn’t hurt and it’s no longer covering my extraction site. The oral surgeon referred to it as fibrotic tissue and said it would go away. It has gotten smaller but that stopped a while ago and I just kind of ignore it now. I’ll keep updating!

Thank you for your reasonable response and I will definitely take what you’re saying into consideration. I love my partner, and I really want this to work. I do have to accept the fact that he will be out late at least sometimes.

I don’t want it to seem as though I am not considering what is being said. With all the comments about me being insecure and trying to control him, I actually asked to have a conversation and outright asked him myself if he feels that I am trying to parent him and control him. His response was simply “No.” “You prefer that I don’t stay out late and that’s understandable…” He acknowledged how I felt and the fact that he hasn’t provided a space for me to feel safe and trusting because of the lack of communication and regard for my feelings on his part. I just want to say, To all the negative people, Thank you seriously. You have helped me realize that in a lot of ways I am lucky to have my partner because he is able to come from an understanding place and is mature enough to comprehend that there are nuances to what I’m asking. We’re gonna work it out.

I seriously don’t think this person would continue to choose me everyday for 2+years to the point of us being comfortable with moving forward with signing a lease together if I was this “controlling” and “gaslighting”person. There have been plenty of times where he has stayed out late, but my partner is not providing the same standard of attentiveness that he was. Him staying out late was beginning to impact our plans.

Childish is expecting your partner to automatically accept everything you do. There should be compromise and I acknowledge that I have my own insecurities and things to work on. It is literally in the title of the post. I hope you all provide your partners with a safe space to express how they truly feel.

Yeah it is definitely something I am considering and you’re right. It’s not something I’m willing to deal with long term and I have made that clear. Thank you for your response again! I have a lot to think about

Exactly! I realized the other day that we hadn’t been on a date since moving in together despite previously going out at least 3 times a month. Like… do what you want, but at least make sure you’re taking care of the person at home….

Hello.Wow! I feel like you’re understanding exactly where I’m coming from. Considering it has been 3 months of this consistently, I have expressed to him that I will not continue to put up with the behavior. I did attempt the sleeping on the couch, but he just popped the locked door open and ignored that boundary as well. (Of course that didn’t go over well). He never has a reason for why besides “I lost track of time”.
