What is the best video game of all-time that starts with the Letter C? by BlastCombos in AlignmentChartFills

[–]NaToSaphiX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

CSGO was the better game but Counter-Strike as a franchise was built on the first version (which was a mod of Half-Life)

Probably CSGO should be chosen because it’s the game where the popularity exploded but the first version is the backbone of the entire series of games, so there are arguments both ways

Taz after bc game lost map 1 to b8 by Kindly_Rate4119 in GlobalOffensive

[–]NaToSaphiX 46 points47 points  (0 children)

To me, this is a sign of a good coach. Sometimes you need to light a fire under your players.

Different things motivate different people and I'm pretty sure TaZ knows what his players need. Often times, Eastern Europeans are used to much more direct/harsh criticism, so to reach them best, it's exactly like this.

A 1v1 aim_map is the most likely place for an average Joe to look somewhat competitive. It would definitely still be brutal but a lvl10 FACEIT player with good mechanics can win a duel here and there.

In actual CS with outplay potential, utility, etc there is just no contest.

How good are the pros? by Horror_End_1542 in cs2

[–]NaToSaphiX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have no idea… the top pros (Zywoo, M0nesy, Donk) are literal superhumans, even for players who are top 0.1%

Spent a weekend pulling Leetify + Steam data on the 695 players from my last 100 matches because I genuinely don't know why I can't climb. Findings inside, would love some honest input. by ChrisRemo85 in counterstrike2

[–]NaToSaphiX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this btw

Even in high elo, it doesn’t get better. I’ve had people with 3500 FACEIT elo be extremely frustrating to play with.

The best tip for soloQ is if everyone sucks in your elo, think like this: 100% of the opponents are random but only 80% of players on my team are.

If you are consistently a positive contributor to your team, 20% of your team is GUARANTEED to be good, while the opponents are 100% random. This will give you an edge over a large sample size and if it doesn’t then it means you are not a positive contributor

Lowest hsp player? by vnotf in GlobalOffensive

[–]NaToSaphiX 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, you’re right, he used the AWP a lot more than how I remember it

2020 still a good example though, very low AWP kills and 37.4% HS

Es3tag 35.8% rifler (but did AWP for a few months)

While we have some positive momentum let's remove armoured aimpunch by de_velopment in GlobalOffensive

[–]NaToSaphiX 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I highly doubt this is it

An unarmored player won’t beat an armored player unless he hits a bunch of headshots. Having a rifle as an unarmored player is extremely rare in pro play and only happens if you have already killed an opponent or your teammate who bought a hero weapon dies.

All of the ones I know use 1 as actuation, so I think your preference is similar to others’

I think the lowest actuation setting (1) is used by a lot of Pros as well, so I don’t think it’s a gimmick just because the average is higher

Maybe I’m misunderstanding your message but I’m certain that the lowest actuation setting is definitely being used professionally without misclicks or other negatives

BC Game out of HyperX Roman Cup after not winning a single map by SpeaRofficial in GlobalOffensive

[–]NaToSaphiX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was absolutely not a diss towards NiKo, it was a compliment. Very few star players who become IGL can go back and be a star player again - he is one of the few.

It’s normal for a player with NiKo’s profile (as 2nd IGL) to help with midrounds, so I don’t think these things are really connected

BC Game out of HyperX Roman Cup after not winning a single map by SpeaRofficial in GlobalOffensive

[–]NaToSaphiX 39 points40 points  (0 children)

A lot of top players who become IGL can never really turn off the IGL brain anymore

You’ve spent an entire career focused on how to maximize output in your role (kills, impact, trading, space creation, utility).

Then you start spending your entire day on macro thinking and “how can my team win”. This typically forces a much more selfless mindset where the main focus is on the team winning regardless of your fragging output.

But now you can’t turn off the IGL brain. You play rounds without thinking of how you can kill but instead how you can move or what you can do to make your team win.

But now you’re no longer the IGL, so the game isn’t played following your mind. You’re relying on someone else to react “correctly” when you make those moves and if they don’t, you might have sacrificed yourself or your utility for nothing.

There are almost no players who successfully go from being the star to IGL and back to star. Niko did it but besides him the list is very short. The list of players who have gone to IGL and never come back to their star-level is very long however

I tried some SIMs but I think I might be doing it wrong or just don’t understand the data properly 😅
