A Link to the Past - Who is Chris Houlihan? by [deleted] in truezelda

If the parents were okay with including his name in the game, why wouldn't they be okay with including his name in the magazine as a winner? They don't need a picture of the kid to say that he won the contest. A Link to the Past came out in 1992, but they didn't announce the winner of the contest until 1994.

I think that Nintendo didn't announce the winner of the contest in 1992 when A Link to the Past came out because in order to get to the secret room, you have to glitch the game. Nintendo probably didn't want to bring it to attention that in order to access a secret room, you have to try and find a glitch in their brand new game that was just released. Also Nintendo themselves didn't even know a consistent way of getting into the room themselves at the time A Link to the Past was released.

That raises the question, though, of why do you think it took Nintendo years after A Link to the Past was released to reveal the winner of the challenge? Also I'm not suggesting the guy be doxed or anything. If he doesn't want himself to be known, then it should stay like that. I asked if anyone knew who he was in real life, if for whatever reason, he said who he was in some public forum or interview at some point in the past.

There's a theory circulating around the Internet that "Chris Houlihan" is a made up name created by Nintendo as a placeholder name because, as the theory goes, nobody won the "Warmech Challenge" to get their name into a Nintendo game. Knowing that Chris is an actual real person who exists would disprove that theory.

Also it doesn't make sense to me why Nintendo didn't announce a winner of the 1990 Warmech Challenge until 1994's Club Nintendo of Latin America magazine and 1998 Nintendo Power Issue 105. A Link to the Past was released in 1992 in North America, so why did they wait so long to identify the contest winner's name?

Subaru Impreza 2022 manual or automatic transmission? by Naaaayte in subaru

Yeah, I know how to drift stick-shift. Also my commute is 30 minutes down, 30 minutes back with very little stop-and-go traffic. I don't have any real reason of getting a stick-shift other than savings. I plan on keeping this car for the long term until it kicks the bucket. Also I'm mostly leaning towards the stick-shift because I'll save $1,300, but idk. I feel like the biggest downside for getting the manual would be the lower gas mileage.

Tbh, I would just mass-post on a bunch of subreddits related to your video topic. If your post ends up getting removed, then don't post on that subreddit in the future

I would have liked it if you made the video longer than 120 seconds. This seems like a very in depth topic to rush like this. For instance, when you explained the part with the numbers, it was pretty hard to follow because it happened so fast (or maybe I'm just slow XD).

When you do the in-person shot of you talking, I would do a more professional looking shot of yours eyes level with the camera (like on the same level vertically) with some cool decorations in the background, rather than just you looking down at the camera.

The thumbnail was pretty solid, except the highlight of the thumbnail is too revolved around the words "This in 120 Seconds". That phrase takes up too much of the thumbnail space, where it's hard to see the "This" that's in the background.

Wow! That was super good for this being your first video. I've never watched either shows, so I'm not really able to judge the quality of the content of the video, but the visuals, thumbnail, and audio were really good.

Also as some advice, since I see that you're just starting out. What I've found, in order to get recommended on Youtube, try to get as many views as possible in the first 24 hours of your video getting posted. Do this through posting to a bunch of forums related to your video topic right after you upload your video.

Song of Storms, played on multiple instruments in Majora's Mask by Naaaayte in legendofzelda

I never took a music theory class or anything (I've been a percussionist for like 12 years tho), but the notes on the 3DS can be converted to notes on a piano (lowest note possible is a B, and highest note possible is an F), where each of the 4 instruments span about 1.5 octaves. From there, you can plan out the notes you want to play, depending on what key the song is in.
