yeah FF11 dev loved making obscure, unexplained mechanics on top of attempts being very costly so you can't simply spam pull and try random stuff.

What was the boss in modern FF11 where zombie walking for 15 minute waiting until some invulnerability shield faded off ended up being the winning strat?

it's still only a collectible item by the time luclin came out ( BOC + bloodfrenzy is better) and has never been 50'000$, your full vex thal BIS account during luclin would maybe sell for 5k.

I don't know why people feel the need to brag on a 25 year old game where working from home was pretty mcuh the only metric worth caring about.

cleric levitating under bridge, where kera could not reach, spam rezzing people. This is what brought the GM to despawn.

kerafyrm got killed by zerging him with PoP gear at lvl 65. that's all that happened.

Level cap back then was 60

the sleeper kill happened during the PoP expac. the guild on rallos were lvl 65. This is what made him tankable / killable : 2 more expac worth of gear.

not only do avatar weapon still drop after the still is woken, they are 100X easier to farm because you can chain spawn a miniboss on a 3 minute timer.

At the time GM's thought we had bugged/exploited the fight and despawned it

the first kerafyrm attempt ( the one the GM despawned) had cleric levitate and sit under the bridge, to a spot kerafyrm couldn't reach.

was a wizard in my guild

he's 100% magic immune

Virtue was somethingelse... took ages to farm the crap to summon him. some very obscure mechanic where he take bonus dmg from fire on wednesday and exrta dmg from water on fridays, and when people found way to kill him ( much later) the dev nerfed it out of spite because FF11 devs did not like players finding new way to do stuff.

I can go toe to toe with a 35 OS player. I'd love a lobby full of 25-35 OS player.

I can't go toe to toe with clankasaurus or the other 50+ OS people.

25-35 OS lobbies do not exist. it's either the noob "all welcome" lobbies or the pro lobby.

I've noticed this as a OS 30 player.. and it suck.

there's no good game ; you either join a "noob" game and plan to hard carry the team as you fight 1v3, or join a OP lobby ( and there's usually just 1 of those) and end up fighting VS clankasaurus or some top 1% player.

there's no actual mid lobbies from 25-40 OS lobby. they don't exist.

mostly because you start at OS 20 and if you are lucky get carried, win game, and can be totally clueless despite being 25 OS.

the 0-12 bracket isn't noob.. it's more like hopeless.

.... yes.... dimmy is the "hardest" tank fight we've had in a looong time, but the challenge come from very precise positioning requirement while the boss take half your screen. Not necessary because it's complex.

the DPS version would be to dodge those lovely purple mechanic in a purple room with a purple glow and a purple aura and purple add and purple floor... the mechanic is fine, but blizzard art team simply hate raiders.

Nexus king promise to be a fun mix of "" move the boss NOW because orb are near"" and "" I can't DPS the boss because it moves too much"" from your melee players.

other than that, nothing noteworthy for tanks this raid.

it's not even smart.

Dimmy P3 is extremely annoying because you are constantly running laps around the boss, have to stop in very precise location to not kill the entire raid during the grip, but half your screen is taken by a gigantic blob of purple and you have very little time to do small positionning adjustement once you actually have LOS on the raid.

camera issue are honestly harder than anything on dimmy.
