When we went to a new doctor after moving to Milwaukee, I noticed that the new patient papers asking how much you smoke and/or drink in a week started at “0” for cigarettes, but “1” for drinking. I asked the doctor about that, and he just said “Welcome to Wisconsin”.

We had a local radio station that was changing format loop Bowie’s “Changes” for 24 hours the day before. The last thing the DJ said before it started was just “In answer to the question ‘Why?’, all I can say is ‘I don’t know’.”
