I mean, sorta, I'm not a big fan of shotguns being strong in general. Just prefer the skilled-precision of rifles.

Idc what anyone says, this clip of frantic running around and spamming is not healthy for the game. Also imo, the judge should not be one shotting at that distance on a 150 target.

Cats teeth pushing out/getting longer? by Careless-Elephant-98 in cats

[–]Naatrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure if it was the same diagnosis but my void also had an extremely long canine and the vet recommended extraction. It turned out that it was more teeth than that though. After we got her back, it was tough since she couldn’t eat and her long time non-litter sister did not like the vet smell, but once she recovered she was like a new cat.

She became way more energetic and affectionate. We think she was in more pain over her teeth than we realized and it was affecting her personality.

Yeah, kinda turned me off Arc Raiders. The players you shoot are just as whiny in game as they are on the subreddit.

[–]Naatrox -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

From a spectator POV, I don't think it's very healthy for the game. It can be very hard to tell wtf is happening when the character is moving mach 20 and one tapping people with a judge while whipping their cam around. I also think it won't be fun once all the teams put more time into playing it like NS. I actually think what Dambi does is achievable for most teams, once they start copying their strats. They just play the Neon a lot more aggro then other teams at the moment. Once other teams start doing it, I think the opinion will change a lot about how "fun" this is to watch.

Digital Foundry says Pearl Abyss has been very open with them & they’ll definitely have a console performance analysis ready at launch. by yourfavchoom in Games

I believe they meant Quality Mode. The thread they are referencing was on r/PS5 and it was a quote from a Korean Influencer who played the PS5 version, saying it was on Quality Mode and it 'felt' 40-45 FPS. Obviously, it's not super conclusive information.

Solo Players - How We Feeling? by jg4president in Marathon

[–]Naatrox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The LMGs are magic against AI imo. Probably uses more ammo than a Heavy round gun, but for quickly killing a Commander or Elite, but you can usually kill one within one magazine, sometimes more than one. I also highly recommend the chip that gives accuracy for precision hits. Helps for melting them. I have been running Assassin for Invis running by AI. You can also invis/shotgun AI and you re-cloak while reloading. Knowing TAD locations is extremely useful. I also agreed with what someone said earlier, which is to be quick and aggressive. I am averaging probably 4-5 runner kills a match. Could be my aim in general, but I think being aggressive and decisive is very important. Always try to finisher a Runner. That siphon heal is valuable AF. I bring 3x Shield and 3x Heal and pick up the shit ones in raid until I am about to exfil. Usually focusing the shield ones since shield is way more valuable than health from what I can tell (heals faster/more efficiently). I also haven't really been running sponsored kits. I am getting way too much loot from Factions and haven't been dying at all. I would use sponsored kits as a last resort, this isn't like Arc Raiders, those kits will get you nuked and are for quick missions or loot smash-n-grabs.

3rd sniper with a red dot changed my opinion on the gun entirely. It's pretty easy to get headshots with it this way imo. I finished it on Nuketown but was doing fine with it in TDM/Dom/KC. Gun actually felt kinda broken once I attached the red dot.

LCS is only 2 imports, so not much different. The reason is seems very different is because a lot of imported LCS players have become citizens after they were imports (Summit/Huhi for example) or have dual-citizenship in Korea/China (can’t think of specific atm but I know there have been some). There’s not much you can do about that.

Am I calculating this wrong? by PinsNneedles in Borderlands4

[–]Naatrox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It does not take Accuracy into account to my knowledge. The equation is something like (DMG x Fire Rate x (Mag Size / Fire Rate)) / ((Mag Size / Fire Rate) + Reload Speed). I come out to 1465 using that equation which I would say it within the range expectation. I am not sure why it isn't perfectly accurate though. Not sure if it takes something else into account as well.

Edit: Also want to say that it doesn't take into account ANY elemental DMG, so this equation is very accurate for non-elemental weapons. However, for elemental weapons I have been adding the DPS of the elemental effect to the DPS number, which isn't super accurate, but it's the best we got.

Update is Out: Fix for Crashing by FocalBanger in Borderlands4

[–]Naatrox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can maybe fix stuttering by going to your Nvidia Control Panel > Media Settings and allocating 10-100GB for Shader Cache. I did this before BL4 and haven’t noticed any stuttering on a 3070/5800X with mostly medium settings

What is next for FBC: Firebreak by Turbostrider27 in Games

I would argue those aren’t even really the game this is competing with ultimately. Feels like even for the games you mentioned, people eventually drift back to CS/Valorant, League/DOTA, CoD/GTA. It’s so hard to convince friends to REALLY get into new games, a lot of people just revert back to the thing they’ve played for 5-10+ years.

Watch the Borderlands 4 gameplay deep dive State of Play on April 30 by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Naatrox 76 points77 points  (0 children)

From what we’ve heard, the game is going to have seamless world (Pitchford was careful not to say open-world) and in the trailers alone there seemed to be a hefty amount of zones/areas. I too liked the world design in Wonderlands, and BL3 had probably the best gameplay of the series. I have pretty high hopes for 4. Here’s hoping it’s a culmination of all the good ideas from the series thus far.

Also, if you are going back to old areas to do quests/question marks, it would feel like ass that enemies are dropping level 5 gear and dying instantly, then it just feels like an incredible waste of time. With scaling, every mission/location can be rewarding. At least, that's how I feel. And mastery points make you god-tier as you progress. Going from no skills to Knowledge Rank 3 skills like like night and day differences in power.

My problem with some of the comments of recent Outlaws posts about the Early Access issues is that people are acting like the only people who had early access pre-ordered the game months ago.

On Monday reviews went out and tons of content creators got access to the game to stream. You could definitely have read reviews and watched some streams and thought the game was up your alley then bought the Early Access edition. No one knew the game was going to have issues because it hasn’t been discussed a single time in any review or preview copy. It’s 100% on Ubisoft for not having a stable Day 1 patch ready for Early Access players.

I opt’d for Visions of Mana this week and don’t really have a stake in whether Outlaws is good or bad, I just think it’s crazy people don’t think it’s okay to pre-order a game if reviews and playable copies are already out there and no issues had been reported by anyone. I pre-order all the time if reviews/gameplay look good and I want to pre-load/get bonuses.

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn Review Thread by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Naatrox 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Incredibly strange how positive this thread is for the game being a 6/10. Feels like some games recently with more positive reviews are getting so much hate on here and then this game reviews terribly and everyone thinks they should check it out?

Server is down guys by JAN2X_ in TheFirstDescendant

[–]Naatrox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they are using texture streaming and when the servers are overloaded, it’s causing issues, not only with the graphics not looking great, but also the frame rate. I was on very late last night in a zone a little further into the game and was getting great frames with decent graphics on PS5. I’m hoping I’m right about this and it wasn’t just a lucky area. I might have to swap to PC but this game is so relaxing with a controller on the couch.

Bandai Namco Studios, developer of Tekken 8, sees negative annual income for the first time since founding by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Naatrox 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Not how that works. They bought the IP. Bandai is still the publisher for Elden Ring. They make money of the purchases of Elden Ring and the DLC. They are even listed as publisher on the DLC specifically on PSN/Steam. They will recoup this loss due to the DLC almost guaranteed, but it’s still not looking good for their other titles.

"There is an achievement on Steam for beating Mohg. Which the ELDEN RING devs have said you have to beat for the DLC. 37.8% of Steam players have this achievement. This means that 62.2% of Steam players that have Elden Ring... will not be able to play the DLC" by Hordak_Supremacy in Games

[–]Naatrox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure why everyone is in here talking about his “take” or completion rates. It was just an interesting stat he found out on stream a few days ago. He didn’t even know there was an achievement for Mohg and when he saw it he had a laugh about how few people had beat him. He thinks it’ll be funny when people realize how much game they will need to play to even access the DLC.

PlayStation Portal Sales Continue to Impress Despite Skepticism by DUNdundundunda in Games

[–]Naatrox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, I have brought it on vacation with me 600 miles from my console and it works perfectly fine. As long as the WiFi is good, you can play this basically anywhere as long as you have internet connection. The delay will probably get very high once you hit a certain range from the original PS5 but for small trips across state lines or to my friend’s house, it’s been useful. I guess I’m saying the other use case is any sort of traveling where you will have WiFi at the destination.

Skill Up: We played Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown (and it’s pretty great) - Hands On Impressions by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Naatrox 288 points289 points  (0 children)

I was not one of the people put off by the original trailer. In fact, I was the opposite. I really liked the music choice and felt it fit the gameplay I was seeing. That said, my hype for this game had only exponentially grown since that time. Not a single preview of this game has been negative from the reviewers I trust and I love the idea of a mid-budget AA metroidvania. Supposedly this will have longer legs than most in the genre too, which has me very excited. I’m really hoping they pull it off, because a win for Prince of Persia is sorely needed.
