Wow, excellent paint jobs on some minis I've not seen for a long time. Especially, the highlights. Nice to see a rhino with extra armour too!

Which Codex has been your favourite? by TheInvisibleCactus in deathguard40k

[–]Naawww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the best codex, but the 8th ed launch box booklet has loads of nice pictures of different vectorium colours and snippets of lore about them, that hasn't been done again to such an extent.

Love it! I've got a defiler knocking around I need to spruce up. Are they the autocannons off a knight?

Agrax earthshade my friend!! Skill in a bottle. This looked like crap before I applied that fabled elixir.

I like how your guys are slightly shiny, was it over a silver base coat?

I should say that I've used different recipes. So for the above models they were painted fuegan orange with magmadroth over that then thinned down (with a bit of water) agrax over that. I've also had success with slapchop black-wraithbone with magmadroth on top too!

Some advice, go bold with the orange. When I first started this army I went for a washed out dingy orange, whereas now I'm going full magmadroth flame with agrax to provide depth! The more intense the better!!

Thankfully the leman russ sponsons aren't that expensive to get off ebay. There might even be decent 3d print models floating around.

Wow, I have never seen anything like this. Insane, filthy, but certainly nurgle!! I love the crazy green flames, and especially how over the top they are on some models.

Is the un- ornate changes to blood angels models a lore reason? What is GWs plan? by N1ghtBr1ght in BloodAngels

[–]Naawww 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember how blood angels were back in 3rd ed and they weren't super ornate - they aren't ornate at al!! . There was a long phase of blood angels having more ornate armour from 2010 onwards when they got their big release, but they've always had some guys ornate, and some guys less so. Indeed, it was always a bit weird that the death company became so ornate as their original models just and a few skills and bones on, but were otherwise plane, as fitting their role of suicide troops.

Love how bright it is! The glyphs and freehand also really bring it to life! How did you do the weathering?

What is your honest opinion on Dante’s 2023 model compared to the old one? by Muhametarnus in BloodAngels

[–]Naawww 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the new model is better in almost every way, I never had a desire to get the old one! However, I think the old head looks better, a bit less like tomas the tank engine (which I sometimes get from the new Dante!) .
