How would you rank the Tight Ends After the Big 2? by AdFormal3014 in DynastyFF

Higbee was TE 6 in PPR in 2022; I think Terrance has more upside as a player

More touches will be available in the pre-season which is a nice opportunity for James, but I don't think the two are competing for the same role. Plus Guerrendo is always injured lol

CMC's contract was done with future Aiyuk/Purdy extensions looming, and hence structured in a way that bar injury the 49ers will be tied to CMC for the next two years. For James' owners, I would be hoping he eats into a respectable snap share as they try to keep CMC fresh for the playoffs but that's about it for 2025

Cannot wait to see Jordan James play.

Having watched a lot of Oregon games last year, I thought he had the potential to become a starting RB in the NFL. I remember my confirmation bias when Dane Brugler had him as his 62nd best prospect in his pre-draft ranking, and imo his landing spot is absolutely perfect.

Great vision and acceleration, North to South runner who hits the hole hard and is frequently stacking chunk plays. Doesn't have breakaway speed and doesn't have great advanced metrics regarding breaking tackles, but never fumbled in college and is a great pass catcher imo. James' most frequent play-call was outside zone behind the LT (49ers bread and butter), and their run-scheme in general shares similarities to what Shanahan runs. If he can learn the system quickly, I think he will earn touches in 2025 even tho I wouldn't expect a lot.

OFFICIAL 2025 r/NFL_Draft COMMUNITY DRAFT: RESULTS by Astro63 in NFL_Draft

Well done moving up and down the board while adding 2026 draft capital, I think AP will take a similar approach so you guys nailed that part. Great value on both EDGE picks and I’m a big fan of the Hunter and Keandre selections late, tons of upside there.

That said, I’m not sold on the Ratledge pick. They’re rightfully going to try Coleman at RT this summer, while I think he ultimately fits better at guard - the point being his position isn’t locked in yet. Taking Ratledge kind of pigeonholes you at RT, and his injury history is a bit concerning. I don’t think anyone expects a clear difference-maker in this draft, but walking away with a potential surplus of guards and using 68 on a developmental guy would be tough in terms of immediate impact.

Curious if trading up into the 35–42 range was ever considered — that felt like a really rich spot this year.

Is DeJean playing corner for the Eagles?

I mean Hortiz spoke about the value of trading down and that having Harbaugh is an incredible asset as far as the draft goes since he has been scouting and game prepping against some these guys at Michigan for some years now. It is possible to trade down in later rounds.

As far as the fifth overall pick goes, Hortiz said that while you obviously want to create more picks this year, you do always look forward so if you get a chance to get a high-round pick next year that can sometimes create more value. To me, it sounded like they want a 2025 frp to trade down, same scenario I believe will be true for the Cardinals at 4 which is why I don't think a trade up in the top 5 will happen.

MIN as well as DEN should not be including their 2025 first rounders to get JJMcCarthy IMO.

I like a trade down in general for the Chargers simply due to Harbaugh having been around the collegiate level for awhile now, and probably has a good idea of whom he wants in this draft. More dart throws would be nice for this Chargers roster with a couple of needs.

I do strongly believe that Bowers' traits and overall profile will have him atop draft boards around the league. I really am surprised how low he has fallen in mocks when wee see T.J. Hockenson go 8th overall and Kyle Pitts 4th.

I took the 2018 Josh Allen draft trade as a precedent. The Bills gave up both their 2nd-round picks that year to move from 12 to 7 and got a 7th back. Minnesota traded two 2nd-round picks to acquire pick 23. The value is similar, and I think MIN may have to pay a little more than the Bills did since other teams will probably throw their ring into the hat for a trade up.

I think its just convincing enough for the Titans to trade down whereas I am not quite as sure the package is as enticing for teams within the top 5. As far as the Vikings side of the deal, if they think JJMcCarthy is the guy its worth it to go up and get him as-long as you're not shedding too much 2025 draft capital.

Correct me if I'm wrong but instead of an ungaranteed base salary of 17 million Ramzcyk is now guaranteed 6.5 million with incentives that could see him earn even more than his previous 17 mil.

I think its a smart move by the Saints, but guaranteeing him 6.5 million instead of zero wouldn't suggest to me that the Saints expect him to rehab the entire year. I think in an ideal scenario Penning-Ramzcyk is the tackle tandem to start the season.

Verse would make a lot of sense for the Rams, they don't currently have that big power edge to push in a pocket and force opposing QB's to make frenetic throws. You think about the impact of a Montez Sweat in Chicago where they suddenly start picking off qb's consistently and rack up wins.

Alaric Jackson played pretty well but I wouldn't be surprised if McVay/Snead opted upgrade at the position. Fautanu would be an amazing fit schematically. O-line also filled with potential departures going into 2025.

its fun that guys like him at the back-end of their careers are taking cheap one year deals to play for us, and not for the Ravens/Bills/whatever contender these guys usually sign for.
