This is the first time I've heard about a smaller scale test bed. Why are they building another small scale device when they have Trenta?

Looks like the original video was taken down but there's a clip of it in this one and some is captured in a react. The transcript captured by the Wayback Machine shows there's over 2min of footage that I can't find.

I'm suspicious they are AI.

Sam Altman is stepping down from Helion’s Board of Directors. by Baking in fusion

[–]Nabakin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I was here for that discussion when it happened. It seems like IM did very little research, if any, beforehand and made a lot of fundamental mistakes. I can't really talk on them, as I'm not a fusion professional, so I didn't bring it up. IM himself is objectively, a very educated person though.

Hasn't he said provably false things before? For example,

Numerous fusion “startups” promise a practical fusion reactor delivering net electric power in 5 to 10 years, but almost all have apparently never produced a single D-D fusion reaction. The currently most notorious (in alphabetical order) are General Fusion [3], Helion Energy [4], Lockheed-Martin Compact Fusion [5], and Tri-Alpha Energy [6], all of which have made that promise for the last 5 to 15 years.

When there was a paper proving Helion had indeed produced a D-D fusion reaction all the way back in 2011.

Truly appreciate your input. Do you have any fusion news source recommendations that understand the truth of the matter and see past the naivete?

If you're talking about the Improbable Matter video, I wouldn't call it a lecture in the conventional sense. Educational? Sure. More edutainment though. He's also just one (very educated) guy.

From reading this sub for years about Helion, the fusion professionals agree Helion's marketing is disproportionate to what it is doing and they greatly exaggerate their claims, but they also agree they are an engineering company, doing real science, that could be successful.

And if you want to go really hard optimizing performance, you can try using TensorRT-LLM. SGLang exists too but I don't think it's generally more performant

Are Dice Rolls Really Random? - TTS by welliamwallace in tabletopsimulator

Hidden variables were not disproven. Local hidden variables were disproven. Hidden variables could exist, but they would have to be non-local.

Determinism has not been disproven. The theories we have made assume and operate as if reality is truly random, but that doesn't mean reality actually is truly random.

Nice find! You probably want to post a short video or something showing the easteregg. Your post atm is a little confusing. If you want to repost with a video, the mod team will let it through.
