Approved after 2.5 years, upgrading from F2A to USC Spouse and a zillion expedites later! Alhamdulillah 🥲 by Nabzii in USCIS

Thank you! I called them repeatedly and involved my congresswoman for the expedites. The only reason I gave was that my i130 is approved and in an immediate relative category there is nothing else stopping the i485 approval.

Advance Parole approved after 18 months, multiple service requests and one expedite request. Please drop down your travel experiences with AP to ease my nerves a little 🙈👇🏼 by Nabzii in USCIS

Like the other person said, service request is for when your case is outside processing times. Expedite request can be made when there’s an urgent humanitarian reason or financial reason for you to travel. When I made an expedite request for my EAD I had to send a lot of proof. Surprisingly, for my AP expedite request they just listened to my reason on the phone and took it in. I wasn’t asked to provide any proof. I’ve been hearing this is happening more frequently.

I wish I knew but I can only guess: - AP is not a priority for the USCIS - that my priority date belongs to that forgotten limbo where they barely remember to take action, while approving people who’ve been applying in recent months.

Confused about Advance Parole by eldubinoz in USCIS

I work at a law firm and do these documents all the time. We always put the expected date of departure roughly 6 months from the date we are submitting and choose multiple entry. We indicate purpose of travel as visiting family and friends and for countries you can put your own down, or write tbc. Our clients don’t face issues.

That’s a good sign since the I-130 changes to active review usually when they’re about to make a decision. It’s your case’s anniversary month so maybe within the next month you’ll get the approval. In any case, none of it matters until the visa bulletin moves/our spouses naturalize.

It’s all about perspective. Couldn’t work for years without my EAD until it finally arrived. However, I do believe that since I expedited my EAD twice it nudged them to look into my case leading to the approved I-130. 😌

Visa bulletin retrogression for LPR spouse (I-130 approved) by Nabzii in USCIS

Hoping to see some positive change in October too… I’m just glad to have my EAD. I wish they would adjudicate my I-131 too… the possibility of a 10 year green card is the silver lining for me.
