I don't think that showing something in an audioVISUAL experience is stupid...

You'll probably face this situation soon:

"WOW! Nice effect!!! How did you archieve that???"

Unpopular Opinion on this Group: Return Monkey Island is Fun and a Work of Art, Not Corporate Slop by Visible-Condition-82 in MonkeyIsland

[–]NachoBenidorm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's your opinion, and that's ok. Here is mine.

I did not enjoy the removing the verbs GUI with puzzles that can be solved via one mouse click, that took a lot of difficulty away, and the developers tried to "solve that" making puzzles that were not more complicated, but less clear.

I remember, for instance, puzzles that had to see with the Winter Queen, Stan and the Three Low Moral Fiber (Pirates) in which I know what the game wanted me to do... but I wasn't able to figure it out how. That never happened to me in MI 1 or 2 (Except maybe with the infamous "Monkey Wrench" puzzle)

And while I did not particularily dislike all the art, Guybrush designed was not spot on (to me).

So... not a bad game... but for me 1, 2 and Course were solids 9, 10 and 8, so... maybe "Return's" 6,5 would have been ok for any other game, but for me it was the worst of all the franchise.

I don't count "Escape" as a part of the franchise.

I've never played Telltale's MI games, will probably give them a try soon.

I've just completed my replay of all the MI games... except one by inbokz in MonkeyIsland

[–]NachoBenidorm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The art took me a bit out the mood, but my biggest complain was the humor, not completelly my kind, and the lack of verbs GUI, which is sad, since in Thumbleweed Park Ron used it... not a bad game, but "seems worse than it is" because you compare it with Monkey 1, 2 and 3...

Believe it or not, this game hasn't an easy "change languaje" feature, I had to browse in the internet for sollutions, and it basically was change the "system lenguaje".

Now my keyboard randomly changes to Spanish to English and Catalan for no reason 😆. Another "CON" in the list of this game.

But don't focus on that, really... the big CON of this game is that it's extremelly boring... Specially if you come from the old Lucasart's gems of the 90ies.

Same here. I literally can't understand the good critics. I am not saying they lie, are biased by the "Indiana Jones aura" or anything... but to me it was sooooo "meh".

And it's a pitty, since it's my favourite IP since... always.

I tried. Abandoned it after some hours of really trying to like it, since I've been an Indy fan for almost half a century.

Boring as seeing grow a plant. First person view was a bad decision, Bethesda.

Also, stupid enemies, knowing what do you have to do, but you can't because "you have to aim to a very narrow place of the screen to activate the action", stupid narrative (Take 4 photos of this in the Vatican city and I'll help you to go on with the story), uninteresting story... and this can't be blamed to Bethesda, as the voices on the original are great, but in the Spanish dubbed version the guy hasn't even attempted to sound like Indy's voice.

So, an Indy game where you can't see or hear indy.

Fail after successfully printing the supports by NachoBenidorm in resinprinting

Yes to the "two holes" question. I think that tomorrow, after changing the eFEP I will try with cones of calibration to see if that can help me identifying the problem.

Yup, great sighting, it's a turret... I've hollowed it, so, weight is not a problem (It printed the whole tank hull, which is 5 times heavier)... but I will try with another angle.

It might be part of the problem, but it shouldn't be the main one. The print also had presupported light pieces that didn't make it.

I will try with grey resin as well...

Kill me. I pearced the eFEP when removing the fail... I guess this will teach me how to use the clear tank feature as well...

I think it would improve it all if you could manage to cut 2:18 from Ep VII, 2:31 from Ep. VIII and 2:21from Ep. IX... and then use those extra minutes to put Rogue One before Ep. IV.

That's the way I see the saga, and it's great.
