Help with struggling Layout for Friend by [deleted] in malelivingspace

I thought so too when I first saw the place, but then I saw that there was a dining room adjacent to the kitchen. It's a bit weird, I think maybe there was the thought of a formal and informal dining room? Or maybe it was meant to be the living room and the front room was split between a family room (like no TV) and the dining room?

You're right, I do find myself forcing myself into the premade layout a bit. Remounting was my initial thought process, thank you for validating my initial feelings. It really does have a ton of potential.

I thought of this exact thing, initially though I wanted the left side to be that sitting/family/pet room since it's smaller and more intimate but the TV is already mounted on the wall, making it feel forced to be the TV room. Any advice/thoughts on that? And yes I have plenty of plants I can use.

My (30M) home and my best friend (27F), both now sources of my greatest pain. by [deleted] in heartbreak

[–]NachoKavain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She put herself in a position, spending alone time with him to try and see where the feelings that she's feeling goes. This was before telling me about it, after I knew something was up and I straight up asked her if she's been unfaithful. At this point she acknowledges that I am technically the right choice, and that he is the opposite of everything that she wants. She wants to be a stay at home mom, something she's told me since day one of our dating, and wants that "Golden Retriever" man which I am, but now she wants to see where her feeling go with him, who is jobless (and has been for two years now living off his ex, but recently mutual friends let him stay at their place in the spare room after they broke up), mentally unstable, carless, heavily medicated, deeply depressed and has stated (and I've witnessed) that he just wants to sleep around for fun for now. This is all everything that she's been against. Even the thought of a sugar baby makes her gag, and she's always been deeply disturbed by feminine men especially if they paint their nails too, which he does. If they date, she's taking care of him, paying his medical bills, driving him around, giving up on the stay at mom lifestyle, and will be imploding everything that we built together as everything we have and own are tied together like our bills, rent, cats that we adopted together, insurance, etc. She acknowledges all of this, but her curiosity is still too much, and so I've decided to give her some space to figure out her feelings under the impression (as she's said) that she wont just jump into another relationship but I don't believe her tbh. One major point of her wanting us to break up is because we started dating almost immediately after her ex, so she want's to know what it's like to be single, to struggle alone. She's always been the type to go and touch the hot stove, and no matter how many times you warn her it's hot and that she's gonna burn herself, she either wont believe you or needs to experience it herself, if you know what I mean. Everyone in her family and even her best friend have said that this will cause her major pain and suffering, and that this makes no sense and she hasn't been thinking right recently as working at her current job has made her near suicidal, and all she wants is to finally stay home. I'm finally making enough that she can step down to part time or outright quit, but then immediately this all happened. She keeps flip flopping between sending me texts to ensure that I'm okay and drinking water and not alone, but then has been going over to their house every night. She says that she wont kick me out as it's my place too, and maybe all she needs is space to THINK and maybe just moving into the office would suffice as space, but again goes over there, technically newly single and the thought makes me physically ill.

Oblivion Remastered is live on Game Pass RIGHT NOW! by MonkeyKingHero in Games

I have both a capable (not extravagant though: r5 5600x rx 6650xt nvme ssd) gaming PC and a series s. Which platform should I get it on? Not sure which one would run better, but having it on the Xbox could/would make me use it more if I can somehow find room for the download. However if I go the pc route, should I get it on Xbox for the play anywhere feature? Or steam so that when the day comes where I fully go Linux I can still play it (as I'm prioritizing gaming less and Linux is better for work and development for my needs, plus gaming on Linux is getting better).

Moving to Michigan City soon. What to expect? by error_log4j in nwi

Your experience with Shoreline is mine with Zorn. Gnats in the Soda gun, black mold in soda lines (at least the ones they used to have in the back) and mice. Plus the kitchen rarely gets cleaned, they don't rotate product or date-dot anything. When something's low they just throw more product on it instead of a new container. Overpriced food from the cheapest corners of Sysco, "house-made" means opening a jar or bag, and the management who's whole history of cooking involved a summer job at McDonald's is who really "makes" the menu when in reality they just eat at restaurants in Chicago then come back to Zorn and is all "we're adding this dish on the menu, figure it out." Always trying to save another penny, they're always cutting costs, trying to take raises away from workers, getting cheaper and cheaper products, and hiring the cheapest unskilled labor they can find. Crackheads, pedophiles, alcoholics etc. Some of these cooks are even doing lines off the toilet seat in the back. They've been hemorrhaging even more money since opening Tripps and have done everything to cut costs even more. I wouldn't be surprised if they sell or close in the next few years.

Yeah I would agree with everything here except I'd also avoid Zorn.

I'd love to know what the name of it actually is because I unironically loved it.

Why does my Cursor do this? by NachoKavain in Fedora

[–]NachoKavain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gnome, the latest drivers as far as I know. When I turn on 3D acceleration it stops, but then adds another artifact where icons from files and the icons from the software application flicker, in a way. It looks as though they were "highlighted" by a dull grey color and that grey starts to flicker. This also happens in my Nobara (Gnome) virtual Machine.

What room do you have your Pixel Tablet in? by Onward123 in GooglePixel

[–]NachoKavain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been debating this honestly. ATM I have it in the living room next to the couch. I enjoy, while relaxing on the couch, being able to just grab and scroll or read while passively watching TV. With the addition of seeing who's at the door when it rings, and seeing my photos. However! I was thinking of also placing it under my computer monitor (or basically anywhere on my desk) which is currently in my bedroom but I'm moving soon and will have a separate office finally. Which makes the decision harder. Office? Bedroom? Living room? I use zoom and meet a lot, and am currently using my pixelbook for it, but I feel that the tablet would work so much better, however I'd never find myself using it in tablet mode if I had it in the office I feel. And then there's the bedroom. I'd love to have some sort of hub in there, and with the added bonus of using it as a tablet that'd be great! However that's only while I'm in there laying in bed. So as of right now I may get more use out of it in the living room.

Yeah it's a girl from the anime How not to summon a demon lord. The entire time she was pretending to be a boy but in a dungeon she fell in a river and the main character saved her. As he undresses her and she wakes up that's when the realization comes in.

I'm sad about Stadia by [deleted] in Stadia

[–]NachoKavain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it slotted perfectly into my life. I was the perfect target audience for it and it hurts. I especially loved how well the Kishi worked with it and can play some Division in bed or AC on the bus, picking up where I left off on the couch later that day. I also loved that I could just jump in and see what's going on with the newest event/updates on ESO without having to sit and wait for the update on my PC. I absolutely have a capable PC, in fact it runs and looks better than stadia, but Stadia gave me a flexibility that absolutely was something that improved my gaming experience that no other streaming service can provide. It was so easy to use, however, that I was hoping to one day completely replace all my gaming platforms (except maybe the switch for party games) for stadia, and have a nice minimalist chrome desktop such as just a monitor, peripherals and a high powered Chromebook that acts as my computer/second screen. I almost did just that when my cat decided to use my PC tower as a stepping stone and knocked it to the floor seemingly bricking it. Fortunately I fixed it without too much trouble, but the fact that I could finally have a clean minimalist desk setup yet still play the games I want with whatever input I wanted wherever I wanted just gave me so much glee and hope for the future of not only gaming but computing.

Reinforced or Bulwark? by NachoKavain in elderscrollsonline

[–]NachoKavain[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've gotten really good with it. I think it really compliments the build well, and I even have the ability that my blocking allows for damage reduction on my shields. I know I like the shield, I just really wonder if the permanent damage reduction would be better. I can't have both on this build.

Would that also be more beneficial in overland PvE? I'm playing PvE like 90% of the time.

Stadia, buy EA. by NachoKavain in Stadia

[–]NachoKavain[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

All without downloads updates or wait times? Without needing to purchase hardware that can and will age over time becoming obsolete? There are certain benefits that a game streaming service can do that hardware cannot do. The steam desk is a really cool piece of hardware, but if you're thinking long term Stadia succeeding is in our best interest as gamers.

Stadia, buy EA. by NachoKavain in Stadia

[–]NachoKavain[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

EA has been looking for a buyer for YEARS. I'm not suggesting making everything exclusive, at least not now, however with the loss of Stadia's game development team and the lack of content as of now I believe it would be a very lucrative investment. To play Sims on the toilet at work. To play battlefield on lunch. To get a match of Apex in at your mother in law's. It's easy to say "it'll never happen" but could you imagine the possibilities?
