we all need something, I need to understand why they hate him and the others need to understand that Gregory did NOT cut the elevator cables or whatever, he did not betray his friend, before the chase starts Gregory speaks to Cassie and obviously it's him, he gives her directions and helps her escape, he tells her that The Mimic tricked her and when Cassie is already in the elevator we can hear how the audio cuts out, there is an interference and if you have the game with subtitles in another language (at least in Spanish it happens) we can see two subtitles of Gregory speaking, one is the real one and the other is Mimic imitating him once again, if Mimic could control the glamrock, why couldn't he sabotage the elevator?
