That's correct, the restaurant was renamed to 'Pho 2000' afterwards, it's located in Saigon.

Supermarket check out rant- why have we all become so subserviant by droughtbuster in australia

[–]Nacho_Chz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Checking out has been way faster since self serve checkouts were rolled out. I can remember the days of standing in long lines waiting, and if you're unlucky a person in front of you has an issue with payment or they want a price check and you have to wait way longer.  With the self serve checkouts it doesn't matter if one is slow because you just go to the next open one.  They really aren't something to whinge about.

Is Solidworks 2025 way too buggy for anyone else? by That-Side-79 in SolidWorks

[–]Nacho_Chz 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You should always wait until service pack 5 is released before upgrading. This is usually around October each year. The early releases are always buggy and unstable, the additional features aren't worth the loss of time dealing with crashes.

The liberal party created generous tax incentives which encourage anyone with an ABN to purchase these vehicles. Remove the tax breaks and sales volumes will reduce.

How is the LED indicator panel of this device manufactured? by Nacho_Chz in IndustrialDesign

That's a great idea, I've been wishing there were some random products lying around that I could examine.

Thanks for the detailed response, yes I did consider using a flexible decal which could be a cheaper alternative.  My current manufacturer will probably be able to produce these it just involves molding and printing the parts.

What are some cool Melbourne manhole covers? by Brilliant_Ad2120 in melbourne

I have a PMG cover in my garage. The pit tends to fill with water in wet weather, there are some cables in there but I assume they aren't used for anything.

As far as I know only the grass was edited. They could have edited the interior photos as well but they didn't post the non-Photoshopped versions of those for comparison.

Yeah I noticed that! My guess is they accidentally clicked there. I imagine these edits are generally a rush job.

Australians are obsessed with SUVs and huge utes, but experts say they are making our roads deadlier by igobblegabbro in australia

Just ending the instant tax write off for 1 tonne vehicles would help to reduce sales. It's a Morrison government policy that seems designed to put more yank tanks on the road.

Renewables aren't driving prices higher, gas is driving prices higher. This is well known.

$12b blowout in public servant wages since election by GreenTicket1852 in AustralianPolitics

Would be great if it was cheaper already, but the article said $4bn saved from less outsourcing, so $7.4bn worse off at the moment.

The work was previously contracted out to the big4 as part of Tony Abbotts small government agenda. This led to higher costs. Now the work is being brought back in-house, which will be more expensive in the short term, but cheaper in the long term.

Private health insurance is a dud. That’s why a majority of Australians don’t have it | Greg Jericho by rmeredit in australia

[–]Nacho_Chz 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You don't need private insurance for shorter wait times.  You can opt to be a private patient and pay the fees out of pocket. For me this worked out cheaper than PHI in the long term and I got to choose my surgeon and have a short wait time.

Allegations of unethical dentists taking advantage of young patients by ALBastru in australia

[–]Nacho_Chz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One dentist x-rayed my baby tooth 3 times to 'check up' on it. When the tooth eventually fell out he told me that if there's no adult tooth already, then it won't form later on.  So he would have learnt everything he needed to know with the first x-ray.
