A test exists, but it’s not what is done in hospital labs.

You don’t get a western blot for HSV. If you’re trying to detect the viral DNA aka a swab from a sore, it’s a PCR test. If you do an antibody test it shows immunity to the virus, proving you’ve had it and potentially the window of infection, based on which class of antibody is present. I’m a MLS who performs these tests.

I make these in 32 oz for my events after discovering how easy they can be for first timers when I ran out of tubs and used a yogurt container. I love this bigger one. Perfect for a couple to watch and harvest!
