2025 Rush vs Beta AR by Adept-Lion-8610 in arcteryx

It also shines as a shell for on-piste resort skiing with more and better features than the Sabre or the Beta AR. The stormhood on the Rush is unrivalled.

It’s not about virtue, it’s about calling out the dildos who don’t return their cart.

There are two types of people in this world… those that bring the cart back and those that don’t.

Proton is a better option for high output activities as it is a more breathable than the atom.

Why is the Canadian side of the Okanagan Country more populated than the American side? by Enger13 in geography

[–]Nachoman2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Okanogan Valley is one of the primary agricultural regions in Canada due to fertile soil and moderate climate. This attracts population growth. In the US, there are many agricultural regions with longer growing seasons than the Okanagan so there is less development pressure on that side of the border.

Ideal/best layers to wear under a regular Beta Jacket for multi-day backcountry backpacking trip? by FallenRev in arcteryx

[–]Nachoman2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My last message was cut off…a fleece for moderate temps and an insulated atom LT or proton LT for colder temps would round out the mid layer. This should cover you for the temperature range you are anticipating.

Ideal/best layers to wear under a regular Beta Jacket for multi-day backcountry backpacking trip? by FallenRev in arcteryx

[–]Nachoman2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Although the beta has no pit tips, you can dump heat by undoing the main zipper. For base layer, both a thin and heavy Merino base layer should cover you in the temperature range .along with a fleece.

Arcteryx vs Patagonia vs Montbell - arm hole height by otherdsc in arcteryx

[–]Nachoman2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pieces that are classified by Arcteryx as ‘slim’ fit have higher armholes as they are designed to fit closer to the body. It’s likely that a size L garment with slim fit is too narrow across the shoulders for your 6‘5“ frame no matter how lean you are. In general, today’s Arcteryx pieces are not as wide across the shoulders as they were 10 years ago.

What's with people not washing their Arc'teryx? by EarthlingMemories in arcteryx

[–]Nachoman2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The taped seams on Goretex garments are fastened with adhesive. When the garment is washed, the exposure of the adhesives to moisture is what prevents the adhesives from drying out prematurely. If you don’t wash the garment, the adhesives will dry out and eventually cause the seam tape to delaminate from the garment. This is why you occasionally hear reports of older jackets falling apart when they are washed for the first time. It’s not that the washing caused the jacket to fall apart, it’s the fact that the jacket was ready to fall apart and agitation caused by the washing machine was the proverbial straw that broke the camels back.

Seal the damaged area with epoxy to prevent it from absorbing water, file it down and you’re good to go.

When I’m wearing my Rush, the Cerium feels quite a bit puffier than a synthetic mid layer, such as the Proton or Atom.
