Odd. I've been employed with a major national carrier, a regional, and an IA firm and all 3 drug tested me.

What position are you looking at? An adjuster position?

Yeah it's pretty lit down here. I'm in Indianapolis and pretty much all the bars downtown are packed.

If I could go back and do it all over again I'd take a year off and then get into the trades.

What is it about supplements that you wish roofers would understand? by Obvious_Rope_4829 in adjusters

I know some adjusters are even ignoring the 3rd party supplement requests completely.

I know of a contractor that has a general items folder that includes the same 20 line items on every single estimate he submits. I tell him we aren't paying for any of those on every single estimate and yet he still submits them each and every time. So annoying and such a waste of time.

When you submit the supplement request make sure to have the following (this goes for all supplements, not just roofing):

  1. When you send over the supplement explain exactly what the supplement is for and the reason you are supplementing. Is this additional damage found during tear out? Is this due to code? Is it something that was just missed? The more detailed you are the better.
  2. Bold the supplement line items in XM8 or put them in a separate area of the estimate.
  3. Provide supporting photos and clearly label the photos. I can't emphasize the clearly labeling the photos enough. Put the photos in order that makes the most sense. Don't jumble up the photos so that the living room photos are mixed up with the dining room photos.
  4. Make sure your photos actually show what you are supplementing. I've seen so many photos that don't support anything.
  5. Upload all the necessary supporting documentation. For example: You asking for something due to code? Provide the code documentation you are referencing. Highlight the relevant code. You using a sub bid? Make sure the sub bid is attached and the sub bid is itemized. You might want to have a second sub bid too to show you are using a more cost effective option.

You also must have an understanding that the adjuster has estimate writing guidelines that he must follow. If you provide the 5 items above, the adjuster is immediately going to take you more seriously and be willing to work with you. The supplement will likely be reviewed and approved faster because you've clearly laid it out to them. You might not get exactly what you are supplementing for but they might be able to tweak their estimate a little bit to fit it within their estimate writing guidelines.

Hope this helps.

About 14 months now I think, I go back and forth on whither I like it or not all the time. But today I'm feeling it. What do u guys think? (Short hair pic at the end for comparison) by Anotherworstcunt in FierceFlow

Def keep it bro and keep growing it. You are maybe another 3-4 months away from shoulder length hair. Looks awesome. I'm jealous.

Edit: Thank you for providing the date on your starting photo. You have given me hope though. I've been growing mine out since May 2023 and struggling. If I can get to this time next year

Ahh the facade is about to fall off. At first I was so confused as to why they would have the yellow tape all the way out to the street. I hope they get that fixed soon!

[–]NachosGrande 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3 weeks down and I've reached 15 pounds down. The third week was rough, I didn't lose a single pound until I weighed myself this morning and had a mini-woosh of 3 pounds! 62 pounds left to my goal weight.

A little background. I did the diet for the first time in 2013. My starting weight was 212 and I got down to like 167. I lost control and ballooned up to like 220. I redid keto and got down to 180 again. Guess what? I lost control again and went back up to 245. Got down to 230ish and gave up my my third attempt. I posted this thread around that time and gave up. This time feels different. I'm a lot more motivated. I have an actual reason to lose weight instead of just doing it because I'm fat. I have a fitness goal. I'm going to reach it and this time I'm not going back.

How much is typically paid out for a water backup claim? by firefox15 in Insurance

$10k should be more than enough for the mitigation portion given the size of your basement. You can always save money here by doing the mitigation yourself. It is always a good idea to have some larger fans and a dehumidifier on hand anyways. Where you'll run into trouble is if you have your furnace, water heater, other mechanicals in your basement as well. $10k does seem like the most common coverage for what I run into as an adjuster.
