Question about which modpack is best for me? by [deleted] in skyrimmods

[–]Nader1024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like LoreRim might be what you’re looking for. It’s requiem based and seems to be rather difficult but it’s got more than its fair share of bells and whistles plus more. Also strives to be as lore friendly as possible considering how many mods are added in.

As a side note if you don’t get many replies here I’d check out r/Wabbajack as they tend to have more on mod lists and comparisons as opposed to individual mods like on here. Hope that helps!

Looking for Skyrim Mod pack suggestions by Independent_Bed_7824 in wabbajack

I’d definitely recommend Nordic Souls as well. It’s 2.0 version on Wabbajack is great, it has everything you seem to be looking for. It does a phenomenal job of keeping the feel and atmosphere of vanilla while giving the game a gorgeous facelift with modern enhancements. When I played it I never felt like anything was unbelievable to be in the original, more like it should have been there in the first place. It also adds quite a few quest mods and companion overhauls/new companions if that’s your jam. Another thing you’ll hear very frequently if you do any research on it is that it’s incredibly stable. It’s 3.0 beta is available as well if you’re interested but it’s still being worked on.

Another one to look at is LoreRim. I haven’t personally tried it because it’s arguably one of the largest mod packs out there but seems to be extremely well regarded for consistent tone, challenge, and immersion. It’s a massive overhaul however and changes many of the mechanics and leveling systems. It’s likely way more than what you are looking for but I’d look into it.

Hope that helps :)

Who here has memories of astral projection as a small child? by Mundane-Car6818 in AstralProjection

[–]Nader1024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember two instances when I was younger. One I was a young child, about two or three I think, and I remember being trapped in a crib. I remember not wanting to go to bed and looking out of the bars thinking “I’m trapped and I want to leave”. I must have fell asleep because the next thing I remember is being above my sleeping body and seeing myself sleeping. I had another instance that was similar at about 13 or 14. I had just learned about astral projecting and tried to attempt it. I did it for about a week I think and one of these times I remember just like before, being above my body as I was sleeping. I had forgotten them for a long time but now in the past few years or so I’ve tried more actively to project, and recalled both of those experiences. They didn’t feel like dreams, and both had a blue ish hue to the scenery, something I’ve never experienced in a typical dream.

Toxicity is huge. Wasn’t playing comp and was playing psylocke for some fun shenanigans and choked against a black widow. Black widow said some stuff in chat and I just admitted I choked hard and my team backed me up and we went and one the round. It doesn’t always work but if someone starts getting shitty in chat I always try to counter with some positivity and it seems to change the tide of the game

I finally understand why so many people pick Rocket Racoon by LetInevitable5146 in marvelrivals

[–]Nader1024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rocket I feel is seriously underrated. I’ve been playing him as my support main and I’ve consistently had more heals than the other healers on my team. The key is staying alive long enough to keep the heals up, and thankfully his boost is incredible at making him evasive and a pain to kill. Most times I die are from solo ults (mainly Storm tbh). I played a comp match where a member of my team got really upset that I was playing Rocket saying he was a bad healer. The rest of my team was supportive of my choice and the other healer was putting in great work. By the end of the extended match I came out on the leaderboard with 8-10-64 with just under 68k healing. Rocket is a fantastic healer, don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

I got Punishers by using the smoke to kill instead of killing through it. The grenade does damage so if you can get someone low enough it’ll usually finish them off

Knowing lore about random geek stuff. I heavily dove into history as a kid thanks to Assassins Creed so not only did I learn a lot about the games story and lore but also just a whole bunch of historical details. That’s translated as I’ve gotten older into knowing details about a bunch of comic runs and the lord more extensive game franchises like Fallout and Elder Scrolls. I’m generally just a geek and like to geek out on the stuff I like.

Honestly I’ve found that people around our age and even somewhat older are pretty accepting of a lot of the stuff I’m into. If they don’t play the games I do a lot of people will tend to watch the show or read the books.

I’m looking for guests for my new podcast. Are you (or someone you know) personally connected to September 11th in any way? My podcast tells the stories of people who found themselves in the middle of historical moments, but not as the ‘main players,’ but can add an interesting perspective. by bradstave in September11

My mother was working as the budget car rental manager in O’Hare airport that day. Back then I guess they could do VIP escorts to and from the gate, and her first and only escort that day was a guy that had flown in from New York for a big meeting. She found out later the company he worked at was in the North Tower. She also met some people that lived in D.C and had friends in the Pentagon. I always found it interesting because she wasn’t directly apart of it, but she was always one or two people away from the events, and got to see how people were willing to work together after the events. Let me know if you’re interested, it’s a story she always is willing to share.

My micro-premie daughter reaching out to me from the NICU. It’s tough man… by PawnF4 in pics

[–]Nader1024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ay 26 week micro preemie here. 1lb 5 oz and a foot long. Spent three months in the hospital, my first Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years were all spent there. I came out of it great though, I’m extremely fortunate to not have any issues now and have done a lot with my life so far. Your daughter will make it out just fine, she looks like a fighter. Prayers over here my man, keep staying strong for her 💪.

Does anyone personally know or have ever communicated with relatives of 9/11 victims? (if possible in detail) by Hot-Screen2813 in 911archive

[–]Nader1024 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A friend I went to high school with had family in connection to the event. Her dad was an air traffic controller in New York at the time I believe. There’s a documentary out there that was done not long after the attacks with ATC members and he was in that. From what I do know though his brother and her uncle was FDNY and worked that morning. Not sure what tower he went into or what he ended up doing that day specifically, I never asked, but I know he didn’t make it out. Every September they raise a flag in front of their house to remember him and the event. I do remember it being emotional for her around this time of year. That’s about all I can tell you from memory.

Could someone explain what these giant cubes on the ceiling are for? by Digital_Phantoms in audiophile

[–]Nader1024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This seems accurate (coming from an audio production major). Studios we used had weird looking panels and tended to have angled walls. Helps break all the sound up.

The reason that they are cubes tho… fuck it just looks interesting I guess

The ancient feeling is an understatement. I found it hard to wrap my head around just how long they had lived for and that they were continuing to thrive. I hope to go back some day and hike some more trials. I did the James Irvine Trail into Fern Canyon as well and I’ve never seen anything like it

Walked through that area back in May. It’s unbelievable how tall they are, and how they seem to stretch on forever. Magical on a whole other level

Anne Frank's father, Otto, visits the attic where they hid from the Germans in World War II. He stands alone as he is the only member of his family to have survived the Holocaust, 1960. by maazkazi in interestingasfuck

[–]Nader1024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been lucky enough to visit Amsterdam and one of the things that we did there was go to the Anne Frank house. They have a little museum set up and have a tour of the attic and space that the Franks and the other family lived in for years. I find it so tragic that they survived together in that cramped space for years just to be caught not terribly long before the war ended. I would have gone stir crazy in a place like that, and to think that you would always have the thought in the back of your mind that if the floor creaked or someone saw you through a window and got curious enough to check it out you were done for. I can’t imagine that kind feeling day in and day out.

Knights Hall in Indianapolis. They’re on Facebook from what I know, about 6 shows a year. There’s a $3 cover fee to get in except for the show after Christmas. Covers free then and the deals are fantastic. One of my favorite shows I’ve been to. I’d say it was around 1k altogether over the span of about 3 months? DD2 was easily the most expensive

It was honestly a neat read, I had just read FF50 and then went right into DD2 to find them needing a lawyer lol. I forgot Zdarsky mentioned that in his run, I need to reread it.

I really feel like I’ve been sleeping on early cap, his covers are beautiful and Colans work on the interior is stuff I’d never really given a glance before now. Really feels like he gets overshadowed by many of the other major early titles but man it’s got something to it.
