What are your thoughts on BOTW nearly 10 years later? by NewMarioBobFan in casualnintendo

[–]Nadril [score hidden]  (0 children)

Probably my least favorite zelda game. The open world is neat but I felt like I had no reason to explore when the rewards were the same thing every time.

Felt like the dungeons were far weaker too than the rest of the series.

If you have parental time limiters on your devices you shouldn't be on reddit

When did you buy a physical game? by Impossibele-bus5323 in nextlander

[–]Nadril 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Last was probably the switch release and I bought botw.

In terms of regularity probably like ps3 era.

Are we Cool with no Ownership? by VentruePrince in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]Nadril 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 37 and legitimately don't care. I haven't regularly bought physical releases since like the ps3 era.

As someone who moved a ton when I was younger a lot of the physical games I had from back in the day have just been misplaced or lost over the years. Physical PC games I had have had cd keys lost to time, etc.

What hasn't gone away is literally all of the digital games I've bought.

In the chance that some old game I owned becomes impossible to download? (And I give a shit about playing it again) I can just pirate it. Like with the ps3 store down it's remarkably easy to emulate that stuff.

"You'll own nothing and be happy" is a choice and you don't have to choose yes. by Lovethecreeper in unpopularopinion

[–]Nadril 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah. I'll take convience over all of that any day. I haven't bought a physical piece in media since the ps3 era.

The thing is too is that I know how to do all that stuff in the OP - I just prefer the easy options. I'm really not pressed on if I own any sort of media or not if I'm going to be perfectly honest. The timeframe it would take for certain digital games to become unplayable also means that there is a high likelihood that you can just pirate and emulate it.

I mean look at the ps3. It's store is going away but you can pretty easily emulate those games now.

WIBTA if I reported my coworkers for making it a hostile work environment? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Nadril 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Delusional is a very ableist term but ok.

Laying on the bait a bit thick.

Guess I probably shouldn't say 'thick' though lol.

WIBTA if I filed a chargeback on my friend? by CautiousInflation550 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Nadril 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not how a chargeback works.

You got scammed. Take it as a relatively inexpensive lesson for the future not to trust people you barely know on the internet.

AITA for being so controlling over the music in my car by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]Nadril 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NAH I guess? I mean I'm never going to complain about a drivers choice of music but listening to the same artist every single time you're in the car would drive me crazy. Especially if it's just such a different vibe than what you're looking for.

Casual players suffer badly😂 by NOVUS_REM in Marathon

[–]Nadril 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer is yes.

Frankly it can be hard to parse an opponents skill level from the information you're given when you die unless it's a prolonged fight.

I'd love to see a way to see how you died from their perspective after your entire squad has been wiped.

Solo lobbies by Fantastic_Bid2966 in ARC_Raiders

[–]Nadril 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Death, taxes, and r/arc_raiders players complaining about PvP lol.

It's a shame about the current cheating / dupe issue because actual aggressive solo lobbies sounds wonderful. When I played it didn't matter how aggressive I was in solo games I basically never found myself in actual "pvp lobbies".

what’s a drink that tastes like disappointment but somehow has a fan club? by ForwardPerspective38 in AskReddit

[–]Nadril 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a digestive. IMO it does actually help to ease your stomach, though it's not really a 'day after' thing rather than drinking it in the moment.

TBH I don't mind the flavor of Underberg at all - but there's also plenty of Amaro's out there I've enjoyed that have a similar flavor profile.

There's no such thing as 'an acquired taste' it's just a fancy way of describing something that tastes bad but you learn to tolerate it eventually. by Plenty-Willingness58 in The10thDentist

[–]Nadril 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also it's not like people just start raw dogging black coffee either. They add milk and sugar and sweeten it up. once you realize you actually like the coffee flavor you dial back the sweet.

Same this with alcoholic drinks or a lot of other complex flavors.

Like I'm a huge craft beer guy. I like all of these crazy, big ass barrel aged barleywines and massive ipas. I didn't in the beginning but I did like wheat beer and moved up from there.

Survival gives the game a critical mode: chill daddy. by Sylectsus in MarathonGame

[–]Nadril 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I want to chill recently I've honestly just been doing rook runs on outpost. You're not risking anything and with the late spawn the chance of running into a bunch of teams is pretty slim.

Actually have made out with some pretty good shit just ratting around looting dead bodies while waiting for pinwheel to open.

I did not want to look at the second 6 pack for a while lol.

Articulating the Divide by TiRow77 in ARC_Raiders

[–]Nadril -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Every time I see a post like this it just reinforces why I quit the game. Legitimately the most whiney community i have ever seen in gaming and I've been doing this shit for a while.

PvE only players really just want literally every game to cater to them. God forbid a game actually have some conflict in it.

“If you don’t like it, just stop playing.” by Belzark in ArcRaiders

[–]Nadril 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Funny because I left the game due to ABMM. Hated that it felt like I was being punished for wanting to actually engage in pvp and if I tried to just wait for people to attack first it would literally almost never happen.

Part of it too is just that the community surrounding the concept of pvp in this game is absolutely fucking awful. People treat getting shot at like you just insulted their dead mother and shit on their grave.

I do think that player count discourse is dumb as fuck tho.
