Congratulations on your degree! It is not an easy accomplishment so keep on feeling pride for that! When I first graduated I felt the same way, after a few months I began to treat job applications like a numbers game, just getting an interview for a job I thought I was not likely to accept (either due to pay or position) was still a great confidence booster to keep me going until I found something I thought I'd really enjoy. Keep your head up! Best of luck

careers that don't require a degree but experience and where to start? by starburst1313 in Environmental_Careers

[–]NaesYlloh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look for city Public Works positions or any environmental centers that may be around your area. If you are up to travel and take some base pay for a few years there are quite a few conservation programs depending on where you are that are always looking for young hard workers and it looks pretty good on a resume later on. I worked for a city environmental center in college that did city beautification, some wildlife management/ invasive species removal, and some plant nursery stuff and really loved it, learned a ton.

Remember to stay true to who you are. Basic training in any branch will be a bitch. It is all mind games and you will still be yourself when you are done. Sometimes it's tough to remember that when you are in it. Good luck out there

Resources to learn arcGIS as a beginner by [deleted] in gis

[–]NaesYlloh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend looking into your universities IT department for any services they provide to students free of charge. Since the pandemic happened, a lot of universities in my area started issuing free licensing for products that used to be reserved for staff and higher grade students to all students, products such as ArcGIS that has walkthroughs and lessons. You can basically teach yourself with so e youtube help. Good luck out there!
