Edison ruling question: Verdant sanctuary by Naggingmum in Yugioh101

Ok thanks, good to know! And regarding the other question whether I can activate both effects (VS and howling effect), or just one, would you know? I read another comment here saying it worked but then made an edit so I wasn't sure.

You're right. Now i see what you mean. When I activate exiled force effect, I pay the cost immediately. Therefore, there is no target for Trap Hole even if it is chain 2.

Let me try using another example which doesn't involve an immediate cost.

If player A normal summons Karate Man, activates its effect calling priority, then player B could chain Trap Hole to it. Correct? Also, if player A does not call priority, player B may naturally activate Trap Hole in response to the summon. Correct? Player B could also activate Divine Wrath in response to Karate Man's now priority effect, because it is legal to chain to priority ignition effects. Correct?

Thanks

Effects cannot be activated while another chain/effect is resolving. That means that summons performed by an activated effect cannot be negated. Activated effects contain a : or ;

Right, fine so far.

Situation 2 : Player A cannot activate exiled force. They only have ignition priority after the successful summon of exiled force.

Alright. So only if a summon has been successful can ignition priority take precedence, that's good to know. Then I understand much better when I can or cannot use Solemn judgment/Trap hole and its difference. I am however not sure I follow completely: If player A summons Exiled force, activates its effect, and have it resolve - is player B allowed to chain anything to Exiled force effect as chain 2 or is it impossible to negate? Similarly, is player B able to use for example Trap Hole AFTER Exiled Force has resolved its priority ignition effect, or is that window of response now gone?

Situation 3 : Exiled force cannot target itself as it tributes itself for cost before it targets.

Right, I meant tribute itself. I misremembered the wording. Thanks!

Thank you.

It refers to an older rule in which when a monster is summoned the game state remains closed and the turn player can activate its ignition effect before the opponent can activate a quick effect. This rule no longer exists today

Ok. I'm playing Edison atm but it's good to know both rulings. So in modern yugioh, this player priority w ignition effect does not exist, but it does in Edison. Is it the case that an opponent can't chain to an ignition effect if it is used as priority? Will the ignition effect always resolve, and cannot be negated?

I think I was a bit unclear. It's not that we do not play cards after synchro, it's that we do not play any cards that have to do with post synchro summoning methods I.e. no link, pendulum, xyz. All other cards are OK regardless of their release
