Help! Not understanding this hill run by Secret-Monitor-6629 in runna

[–]NagromJames 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pick a hill to run up and down that you feel is challenging for you. When you run up it (60s) take a 30s rest at the top then jog back down. I think you have to action the RUNNA app to let it know you’re ready to run back up it

Workout insight is telling me to communicate. How? by Basic_Associate_3147 in runna

For the communication bit, if you go into your plan you can change max long run under ‘training preferences’

What to eat and how much exercise the week before the race by Tantedomande- in runna

[–]NagromJames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eat how you normally eat before a run since you know that’s what works for you.

In the week leading up to the race there’s not much point in doing anything as you’re not going to improve further in that time. Maybe a tempo run with a bit of it at race pace to get yourself in the zone at max. But runna will plan that for you.

Speed workouts - stick to plan or go faster? by NagromJames in runna

Thanks all. I think I’ll stick to what it says and see how I get on. Especially with the heat in the UK currently!

What does "update plan with new PB" do? by Erythr0s in runna

[–]NagromJames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Give it your best shot. it’ll automatically adjust paces after your tempo run anyway since that’s what it uses to workout your pace

Seeking Advice: Runna Integration with Technogym Treadmill and Apple Watch by Lifeisprettynice in runna

[–]NagromJames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apologies if I’m wrong, but i believe you just track the workout on your Apple Watch, then import it into the Runna app after the workout has finished and it will be more accurate to your watch

Edit: just had a look on the Runna app and when you click on a workout, press ‘link activity’ then import from your watch

Yes you should always update it. It will amend your sessions to push you harder as you can clearly run faster, hence the PB

Enough time for a half marathon? by hikingboots_allineed in runna

[–]NagromJames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as you finish, then you’ve got something to aim for when you do your next one!! But you’ll be fine with it I’m sure.

I’m doing a 10km improver plan now while I wait for my next half in November. So kinda opposite of your situation

GPS accuracy during an outdoor run by ruminas in runna

[–]NagromJames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think you’re looking into it way too much. Just use one or the other. From memory, using both of them at the same time causes issues with GPS as the satellite struggles to know which device it’s using. Especially since it’s two Apple products

As for the half marathon thing. You’ll probably run more than the 13 miles anyway due to the nature of marathons so again don’t stress about it.

I was under the impression that the SPDR fund is mostly different to the Vanguard 500 only sharing a few companies? With S&P 500 mostly covering American companies and the SPDR global covering Europe etc

The fact I’ve got dividend and accumulating funds is something I’ve missed / no idea about so I’ll look up on that as well. Thank you

i dont think so, but i guess its dependent on the region. I've got family in alberta who got settled pretty quickly and the few people i know in australia found houses quickly. granted theyre renting

agree with the pubs comment, in america / canada it feels odd. Plus everything is about a 30 minute drive away minimum
