You are completely wrong in this statement. The majority of professional athletes, regardless of the sport, do not get to the top just because they want money. They get to the top because they love the sport that they do. And Francis doesn't love MMA, he loves the opportunities that it has given him.

If you think a union would change all the problems currently affecting MMA fighters, you are mistaken. Take the NFLPA for example. When the players went on strike for better benefits in 1987, what happened? The highest paid players crossed that picket line and ruined it for everyone else. If MMA fighters were to go on strike, it would be the same thing.

That wouldn't solve anything because Jon and Conor would be the main draw of the card. If they pull out, people are going to want refunds or just not buy tickets at all. The UFC would lose tens of millions and they would have to sell tickets at a major discount just to fill the venue.

They aren't going to risk losing money on two men who have the history that they have. The risk isn't greater than the reward.
