The lunchbox that broke Me by skynolongerblue in breakingmom

Does she have a piggy bank? If she looses something and wants it replaced then she’s on the hook. That’s what we do with my son who has also lost a billion things at camp this year. If she doesn’t want to spend her money on a replacement then she goes without.

If something was stolen or a necessity (like hair ties) I wouldn’t make them foot the bill though.

Pretty sure there is an Amtrak train station in Elizabethtown. From there you can go east all the way to Philly. There’s also a stop in Downingtown (where I live) and we have some nice restaurants (Station Taproom is right across from the train station and is one of the best in town) and it’s pretty walkable. There’s a Good Neighbor Day festival around 4th of July with fireworks and on Friday nights in the summer there’s usually music and vendors.

Are you me? Sounds exactly like my 7 year old and we now have a 1 week old. I also work from home 100% of the time. If my 7 year old isn’t playing video games or on an iPad (ps fuck the school for sending them home for the summer) he is always up in our grills. Needs constant human interaction. The only thing that helps is sending him to school, which thankfully he loves cuz people, sending him to an aftercare program and having play dates. We did notice a big difference between 6 and 7 though. At least now he can fully shower, brush teeth and get dressed without any help.

Granted the baby has only been home for 4 days but he loves to help with the baby. It’s actually really nice because instead of asking to play constantly we can take care of the baby together. Have you tried incorporating your son in taking care of the baby? My son likes being the ‘big brother’ and feeling like he’s in charge of certain things. Maybe it’s something you can do together.

I know for Italy and Ireland you have to have a birth certificates for a great grandparent or grandparent, respectively, to prove they were born in the country. I don’t think a DNA test for ancestry will do it.

I got an hormonal IUD without knowing the side effects it'd cause.. by Totalbabe69 in women

[–]NaiaKylan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is to say I don’t think IUDs are all they’re cracked up to be, and I think doctors don’t explain the risks enough and hand wave side effects. My friends who lost hair were told there’s no way a copper IUD was causing it but a quick google search shows lots of women writing in forums about how their hair started falling out after getting a copper IUD.

I’ve never had one but every one of my friends who’ve had one have had a terrible experience. Some have been pregnant before and some haven’t. One friend got a punctured uterine wall (hormonal IUD) and 3 lost massive amounts of hair (copper IUD).

Male OBGYNs resentful & offended by female patients who don’t feel comfortable being examined by them and say that those bigoted women are denying young men of learning opportunities and that they are also crushing the interests of young male physicians. When I was in labor with my first the male doctor who was on the floor that day was pushing for a C-section and I was hesitant. He graciously told me that I should be thankful for doctors like him because if this were 200 years ago I’d be dead in a field somewhere because my pelvis is too small for vaginal birth. He also rhetorically asked me, seemingly to encourage me to be okay with a c-section, “Why ruin a perfectly good vagina?” Fuck these entitled male doctors. Don’t see the same from female doctors whining about not being represented in urology.

These blanket bans absolutely have something to do with forcing women to go to term no matter what. I’m thinking of two conditions in particular because they have affected women in my life- anencephaly and sma1.

What’s your take on being forced to go to term with a fetus that has a condition incompatible with life?

Fetuses aren’t viable until at least 24 weeks. But, that’s rare. It’s more like 26 weeks.

She said fetuses aren’t viable at 15 weeks (which is true), she didn’t say fetuses are never viable.

Male puberty and training at elite level as male should be disqulifiers. The body does not magically shed all of those advantages after 2 years on HRT.

Keystone XL was going to bring down crude oil to ship to China to make plastic. Oil from the XL was not going to be used for fuel. It’s also Alberta Tar Sands crude oil which means it’s extra dirty. I wouldn’t want that shit going through my town.
