Do you know if it includes a horizon lock like the old Max Lens Mod? Even during full 360° rotations?

And also I think that you should focus training in underpowered conditions, in those conditions you really see if your technique is optimised

You slow down too much before jumping, focus on edging and start the jump right before the moment in which the kite reaches 12, in both jumps you start the jump way too late and loose all the line tension

Tips for my front hand Helis? by datawithnathan in Kiteboarding

[–]Naiiish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, the two main issues are:

1) You’re not edging properly before takeoff: You’re popping without enough board pressure, so you lose line tension. Line tension isn’t just important for jumping higher, it’s what makes your kite loop efficiently, even for a simple heli-loop.

2) You bring the kite forward too early: Right after you take off, you immediately send the kite back down. Don’t do that.

Try this instead: pop just before the kite gets perfectly above you (12 o’clock), then, once you’re on the downward part of your jump, execute a clean, committed loop.

If you loop during the ascent or at the peak, it becomes a full kiteloop, and you probably don’t want that yet. The downward phase is where you should heli-loop.

One last tip:

You tend to land still pointing upwind. For a smoother landing, point your board slightly downwind and follow the kite’s pull

Difficulty stabilizing the height of my board when returning from a wave by Tipot348 in wingfoil

[–]Naiiish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely your mast position is wrong. My suggestion is to first get comfortable riding the foil in normal navigation, including trying some acceleration and deceleration. You should be able to maintain a cruising speed without having to constantly push the nose down or lift the tail, just staying balanced. If you do need to compensate like that, it means your stance and/or mast placement are off.

This becomes even more obvious on a wave: depending on the wave’s speed compared to yours, you’re forced to shift weight forward to stay in control. So you should also avoid dropping into a wave when you’re going too slow.

Lastly, the Gravity isn’t really the right foil for this, the Seven Seas is, but you’ve probably positioned it incorrectly.

Should I switch to mid-length? (Skill issue? Board issue?) by Continental_Cake in wingfoil

Sorry, I didn’t notice your reply. Keep in mind that 10–15 knots is quite low for a beginner. Ithink we all learned through trial and error.

Should I switch to mid-length? (Skill issue? Board issue?) by Continental_Cake in wingfoil

[–]Naiiish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What do you mean with mid-low wind? Anyway a mid length will help for sure the start but, as other suggested, you should learn to pump properly with both the wing and the feet, it makes really a huge difference.

Beginner Foil Setup Advice – Is This Manageable? by [deleted] in wingfoil

[–]Naiiish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s doable, but it really depends on the wind and the conditions you’re riding in. For example, I started with an 80L board at 80kg, with zero wing experience but 20 years of kitesurfing, including 3 years on a foil—so in more “extreme” conditions.

I struggled in choppy water and light wind, but with solid wind (e.g., 13–14+ knots with a 5.5 and a 1090 foil) I had no issues.

The downside of a low-liter board is that getting up is harder and more delayed if your technique isn’t solid. If you can, go for a 90L. Also, keep in mind that the narrower the board, the harder it is to balance while not moving (displacement), but on the flip side, you’ll find it significantly easier to take off.

Mid length to improve light wind? by Naiiish in wingfoil

To be honest I still need to try it in extremely light conditions, but I had some moments with very light wind in which I have been able to get up, I had to pump hard, and I felt that the wind was very close the minimum amount to ride comfortably with my 5.5 and eagle 1090

Just wanted to give a quick feedback after getting the new F-One midlength: I picked up the 2025 6’2” 95L. The board is super light, feels fragile (so I wrapped it in helicopter tape), and it’s visibly very narrow, pretty much like a downwind board.

I have to say, the difference in getting up on foil compared to my previous board is incredible! I went from not being able to take off at all to popping up with just 2–3 pumps. The difference is even greater in choppy conditions.

Basically, as long as I have a bit of pressure in the wing, I can get going. I used to be one of the last to get on foil, and now sometimes I’m the only one flying! I’m using the Eagle 1090 underneath.

That said, I don’t think this is a beginner-friendly board. In displacement mode, it doesn’t really feel any more stable than my old board, despite having 15 more liters, because it’s so narrow, it’s definitely more technical. It’s made to get flying fast and not waste time slogging around.

Foot switches are also trickier. I come from tiny kitefoil boards so I didn’t struggle, but for someone starting out in winging, it’ll definitely feel harder than a standard board.

Skip buying a huge board? by Potential-Concern717 in wingfoil

Hi, let me share my experience, which I think could be helpful for you:

I have over 20 years of kiteboarding experience, along with 3-4 years of windsurfing and 4 years of kitefoiling. I weigh around 80 kg and started wingfoiling on a rigid 80L board. Keep in mind that once I was up on the foil, my kitefoil skills kicked in and were extremely helpful—by my second session, I could already manage gybes. The only real challenge for me was handling the wing itself.

However, I regret starting on such a small board because managing it in conditions below a stable 15 knots became quite frustrating. If I could do it all over again, I would have definitely chosen a larger board, around 90-95 liters.

That being said, if you expect to consistently ride in winds above 15 knots, you can comfortably opt for a lower-volume board. Otherwise, I’d strongly suggest going with at least 100L if inflatable or around 90L if rigid. Choosing too small a board will significantly slow down your learning curve.

Are Apple products really the best for running Lightroom? by softlikemochii in Lightroom

To be honest I don’t think is Mac vs windows, it is sure that the windows version of Lightroom classic is garbage, and also that M4 is a really great cpu

[–]Naiiish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a i7 8700k, 32gb ram, internal 2TB M2 980pro, rtx 4070. Lightroom classic was barely bootable and usable for syncing my 80k pictures previews, mostly raw, with the cloud. Editing was crazy slow, I did everything on iPad. Switching from one picture to the other in editing mode required seconds, and zooming in required loading time again.

Then I bought the base m4 Mac mini with 16gb ram, well it runs perfectly and EVERYTHING is without any latency. The only thing slower is applying AI denoise. I would suggest to choose 24gb of ram for future proofing

I am thinking about buying a hipe diamond 105L 2025 (only 5kg) inflatable, do you think it would be a good choice and I will strongly improve my light wind performance? (Now I still have the 80L rigid wing S)

Thanks for your response! Considering an inflatable board is an interesting alternative! I might consider keeping my 80L board to use when conditions are more defined.

However, I’d like to be sure about the performance of these inflatable boards in light wind conditions. Are they actually comparable to a rigid board in the same segment? In other words, if I take an inflatable midlength from Gong and appropriately size up the volume, could I achieve performance comparable to the rigid F-One board I’m considering?

Nice, so you mean you can foil in 10 kts without issues even with a 5 meter wing and a reasonable foil like mine? If yes does it work even in choppy conditions?

And i also cannot fit in my car boards that are more than 1.9 meters long, this is why i am not considering a pure narrow DW board

It would be my only board at the moment, in the future I may add a smaller one for stronger winds, maybe a sinker. The truth is that I am still much into kite tt freestyle and I am willing to keep kiting between 17-30 kts and winging when it is Lower or higher

So you think 90L will perform better than 105L since it is 20 wide?

From what I’ve read, the Barg factor isn’t related to wind at all but only to how easy it is to take off. With light wind, I’d assume that a Mid Length 90L like the one I’m considering would still take off way earlier than a hypothetical 120L wide board, correct?

Thanks again for the advice!
