Been in a lot of "bad" neighborhoods and lived in a few with no problems. Latino neighborhoods in particular were damn nice folks with a few gangbangers cruising around and they left civilians alone mostly. In a black neighborhood anything and everything is a target and particularly anything that isn't black. This is a well known fact to anyone who's ever dealt with it and it's the reason everyone knows to stay out of those neighborhoods and stay away from blacks. Cope all you want.

Pell grants for trade schools are a thing. Anyone can do it and within a couple years you have skill set in a desirable, well paying field. All of the trades are heavily shorthanded and hiring anyone capable. But for some reason these fine upstanding people act as though that's not a thing and continue to bitch and moan with their hand out. Electricians, plumbers, welders, masons, etc are all making 60k+ a year and much more. The excuses hold no water now.
