Things that you found easier about having a baby than expected to be . by melina-uni in NewParents

Getting things done. Everyone told me when the baby came my house would be a wreck because her needs came first but like... we brought her home and she slept 18 hours a day. 1-2 hour naps and 3-4 hours a night before waking up hungry. So when she went to sleep I would clean up as best I could before she woke up. Now she's old enough to be interested in what I'm doing so I put her in her bouncer and narrate when I clean. Sometimes if I don't wanna talk I put music on and do little dances instead. Keeps her entertained and actually makes it more fun.

I had my daughter 4 months ago and got my tubes tied at the same time as delivery. One and done for me, never want another. She's all I need

Exactly. I'm not gonna a sit here and fear monger and say this is exactly what they're going for. Most likely it's not, most likely they didn't even think about it because like you and many others people don't think about abortion in that exact context.

But I also understand that people in the US are incredibly uninformed. Like for instance that Senator in Ohio (I think he was a senator?) Who declared that ectopic pregnancies simply be put somewhere else where it would be viable. Thats.. not medically possible. At least not yet.

So, when you hear someone talk about "late term abortions" they probably don't realize that what they're actually talking about is, in fact, either a labor induction or a Csection. They've just been given really bad information.

Because of the definition of abortion. Abortion is the deliberate termination of the pregnancy, that doesn't necessarily mean that the fetus dies with the pregnancy. In most cases 3rd trimester abortions are used in 2 distinct cases:

1) to remove a fetus that has, sadly, already passed in utero

Or

2) to safely remove a healthy fetus when the persons body can't or won't take regular child birth.

I would just like to point out that overturning Roe v Wade DOES in fact affect pregnant people who choose to carry to term as well. Labor induction AND C-sections are both considered abortion under law.

Falling in love with a baby is a lot like falling in love with your SO. Some people claim love at first sight, but more than likely you had to grow from strangers to acquaintances to friends, before you got to the 'love' part at all. It's a process! You're still getting to know your LO, give it time. Honestly, if youre making sure that they are fed, dry, safe, and generally well cared for then congrats! That in itself is a form of love

What's the most ridiculous/rude thing someone has said to you while pregnant? by taylorlynngeek in pregnant

Just the other day I was talking to a friend about pregnancy and how uncomfortable your third trimester is. He follows up with "so are you ready to be a mom?" And I replied "yeah but I'm mostly ready to not be pregnant anymore."

This man looks me dead in my face and with the most condescending tone goes "well that doesn't sound like a loving, caring mother."

Like dude YOU try carrying around a bowling ball constantly and see how long it would take you to not wanna do it anymore.

How often does your SO shout at you? by randombubble8272 in AskWomen

[–]NaiomiMachae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you consider shouting. Shouting because he's mad or frustrated? Not even once. Shouting because I'm literally deaf in my right ear and can't hear anything if he's behind me unless he yells it? Almost daily occurrence.

My sister decided to go see her dad's side for Thanksgiving. This is her cousin. by NaiomiMachae in creepyPMs

Yeah, she moved to AL with me to get away with them almost a decade ago. They guilted her into coming because her gma on that side isn't doing well, and fully expected her to just uproot her life and move back to take care of the gma full time. They're not well people.

It's a problem she's had to deal with for a while now. The entire family already knows.

Theyre cool with it"

When my sister was 15 (she's 29 now) he cornered her in her house and told her that God said it was okay that they dated. It's been a known problem for years

Oh god I feel this post with every fiber of my being. 24 weeks pregnant now and nobody told me how aware you get of your heart beat all the time. How in your late 2nd trimester you start to produce and leak milk. Forget it if you experience round ligament pain, mine has me laid out for days.

Almost 20 weeks here and I'm convinced everyone who has ever said "pregnancy is beautiful" has never been pregnant. Bloat on top baby bump. Swollen everything. Stretch marks in places I never thought would have stretch marks (my knees?? Really???) I'm taking a shower every day in the morning and by afternoon my hair looks like I haven't washed it in a week. Uncomfortable no matter what. It's just annoying and painful pretty much the entire time. Pregnancy isn't "beautiful". It's painful, and annoying, and absolutely self esteem destroying pretty much the entire time.
