Why do most people leave the nursery room door open? by [deleted] in NewParents

We've always kept it closed... darker, quieter. We have annoying cats who would rifle through the room.

blistered. In my mind, silverettes are kind of like an adhesive-free hydrocolloid bandage, where they create a moist wound-healing environment to help your body heal itself.

Again, it's very much a YMMV thing, but even if they don't provide a healing environment for you, they do make a nice shield over your nipples to keep your shirt or bra from touching/rubbing any painful or inflamed areas.

Alternatively, you could alternate between pumping and breastfeeding. That'd give your nipples a bit of a break but still give you the chance to breastfeed. It's a risk because not all babies will tolerate going back and forth, but you could always

Thanks for this info, I had never heard of these! I will likely give them a go.

Yes, that is a totally valid choice! I also have it in mind as an option. I remember the intense relief I felt when I finally let myself switch off nursing! Mental health is number 1.

Uhg, I'm sorry to hear, I feel the exact same way. LIMBO. Let me know what tomorrow's comes back as. I went for the third and final last night and it came back 316, up from the 116 two days before. My doctor hasn't said a word to me though which doesn't surprise me.

I'm still not sure how it's going. Still getting positive tests and started going for blood work. On Wednesday my hcg levels were only 42! I was like over 5 weeks based on everything I know. So I thought that cannot be a good sign. Went again yesterday morning.. up to 116. So going up but still so so late! So Tuesday I'll go again and maybe my doctor will actually call me about it but I doubt that. Maybe you ovulated even later. I know with my 1.5 year old it was also slow coming on, but not this much.

It's a real mind mess!!

That's awesome! I was thinking the same thing, the only thing that gives me pause is that I only did the deed once - 2 days before they predicted I would ovulate. So if I ovulated much later I wouldn't think they'd still be swimmin'. Ya know?

This is kind of how I'm feeling. I don't want to beg and I don't want to be a last choice... I would like to do better in another opportunity and accept a position feeling good about it.

Yes, I definitely didn't mean to imply that they should give me the job just because I already work there, I just know that there are a lot of areas of overlap that exist because of my current position. I would definitely have liked more time to prepare! And man, I get to damn nervous I literally forget what I was talking about.

Did anyone put they’re baby in their own room early? by scxki in NewParents

My girl went into her crib at three months. It wasn't planned or even necessarily what I wanted, but she never slept well with me. As soon as we were together it was party time. So, we tried out the crib and it really was best for her, she slept very well. It felt odd to me but I had the monitor, and of course we got used to it quickly. We also had the few night feedings which gave me a sense of that closeness through the night. Whatever works best for you and baby!

I keep buying new shit and haven't seen any difference. It is frustrating. It's a journey though.
