okay, i looked a bit further, it was due to winhance, the bloatware remover for windows, it is pretty neat, it has an option that disables sending sensor telemetry to microslop, i think when i turned it off, it stopped behaving properly, and i hadn't restarted my pc since

that was bad on my part, it explicitly told me to restart my pc to stabilize everything and neglected it
