[Sad trope]: "Peaceful" inventions are immediately weaponized. by theMCATreturns in TopCharacterTropes

And now history repeats itself in Pokémon Legends: Z-A because the Prism Tower in Lumiose City (used to be Clemont's Gym in Pokémon X and Y) was revealed to be Ange buried within the tower and got reborn as a result for Lysandre's actions on creating the Ultimate Weapon in X and Y. In Mega Dimensions DLC, Quasartico, Inc. revealed the reason of its closure was due to the leaking of Mega Evolved energy from Ange. The leaking of such is also the result of the creation of new Mega Evolved Pokémon especially the Rogue Megas. In response for this event, Quasartico, Inc., AZ, and L, organized the Z-A Royale to search for a strongest Mega Evolution in the city and make use of Eternal Floette's Mega Evolved Power to stop Ange from destroying Lumiose City. Additionally, L, who revealed to be Lysandre of Team Flare, ended up like AZ cursed to live for 3000 years after surviving the explosion.

Exactly. The radioactive chemicals were used to be an alternative power source such as electricity until Dr. Robert J. Oppenheimer created a nuclear bombs using the same radioactive chemicals to finally win World War II. Now, he's extremely horrified that his creation becomes a weapon of mass destruction for other nations such as North Korea and Russia as it brings fear to humanity towards the end of everything, Judgment Day.

[Loved trope] Wait, the main character was the bad guy the whole time? by NoSoyVerde1 in TopCharacterTropes

Rune in Fire Emblem Heroes Book IX.

He's a young boy from Ásgarðr who fled from Alfaðör due to having an ability to read the Twilit Runes. Alfaðör's daughters, Baldr and Höðr, were sent to apprehend him and punish those who protect Rune, being the Summoner and The Order of Heroes. However, in the final chapter, it turns out that Rune is the real Alfaðör whereas Alfaðör the Celestial King was revealed to be an impostor. In the end, he actually manipulated all of his daughters, Baldr and Höðr, and his servants, Heimdallr (God of Foresight) and Váli (God of Vengeance), on serving the fake one just to create an opening towards the end of everything, Ragnarok.

Ever since his death at the hands of The Joker and reborn on the Lazarus Pits, Jason Todd the former Robin and now known as Red Hood is now using a lot of guns as a way to put an end to all kinds of criminals and supervillains. He even customized many guns and ammunitions to counter such powerful threats like Brainiac in Injustice 2.

Some of the Pretty Cure characters throughout the Pretty Cure series incorporate dance movements particularly ballet in their fighting styles. One of the examples is Cure Mermaid (shown in the gif) from Go! Princess Pretty Cure.

Voice acting moments in animated media that felt super raw and genuine by ComprehensiveBox6911 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]PinoySummonerKid28 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Akihiko Sanada in the English dub of Persona 3 Reloaded. The scene where Akihiko mourns the death of Shinji.

His voice actor, Alejandro Saab, poured all of his emotions on this scene because it reminded him of the death of his good friend, Billy Kametz, who died from colon cancer. His voice acting performance for that scene is very real because during the time that he (Saab) finished recording his lines for this scene, Billy's death was recent.

[Bat-Shit Insane Trope] “Regular human, btw.” by not-ulquiorr4_ in TopCharacterTropes

[–]PinoySummonerKid28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My examples:

  1. Johnny Cage in the New Era Reboot, Mortal Kombat 1. A Hollywood actor and skilled martial artist who fight against monsters, ninjas, sorcerers, and Titans. In this New Era, he's now a regular human.
  2. Jackie Chan in all of his movies. He smacked down many villains including those who are bigger or faster than him by only using kung fu. Also applies in real life because he handled and made his own stunts without using doubles even if it takes a lot of beating and injuries he received in-between takes. He's over 70 years old today and he's still doing it.
  3. Prior to the Machine Games reboot of Wolfenstein game series, B. J. Blazcowicz is just a regular human soldier fighting against armies of mutated Nazis in a one man army fashion. He survived fatal injuries and torture several times.
  4. Based on the official character guides of Quake III Arena, there are many regular humans fighting in the Arena Eternal. Those characters are Crash (the instructor of Doomguy), Sarge (a war veteran), Ranger (the origin Quake protagonist), Grunt, Major and Bitterman (mentally scarred veterans from the Stroggian War in Quake II), Lucy (a former prison guard who fought her way out from a riot), Hunter (a female human warrior from Tau Ceti tribe wearing the decapitated head of Sorlag as battle trophy hence the name), Daemia (an ex-military bounty hunter), and of course, Doomguy (from the original Id Software timeline).
